Default New Legacy new Clutch

I've just aquired an old 98 2.0l legacy estate, but the clutch is slipping when I accelerate hard in the higher gears. The biting point is also quite high. I take it I need to replace it. Am I best going to a main dealer and any idea how much this will set me back.

Sorry if this has been asked before, I'm a newbe. (I did try searching first.)

Also the window wipers work without the key in. Is this right?

Wink Window Wipers

I think on the Legacy the windscreen wipers operate the same as the LED light in the Impreza that indicates various fault codes. The number of swishes = relevent problem. In your case the car is telling you that your clutch needs replacing.

Seriously though, I would shop around for the clutch fitting unless you particularly want Main Dealer stamps and the no doubt slightly higher price.

As for wipers - wierd, didnt happen on a Legacy I had - how long do they go on for after key out.?

No not bothered about having a main dealer stamp. I suppose I Need to ring a few garages around cambridge and get the best price.

As for the wipers, I think they work indefinately without the key. I'll know for deffinate tomorrow after my all night swish counting vidual.
