Legacy Clutch Smells?
#1
When pulling away I don't have to be particularly brutal to get burning clutch smells in my legacy turbo estate. Pretty much any clutch slipping and it's there, difficult to pull away on a hill without getting some degree of smell.
I have never had a motor before that did this with such frequency.
Just wanted to know, is this normal or are my clutches days numbered (I don't get any clutch slip when driving normally???

Is your legacy running Impreza gears/drivetrain?
If you are giving it revs puling away it CAN slip.
It's probably worth changing it anyway.
The main indicator that my clutch is going is reverse gear uphill...which ALWAYS seems to burn the clutch....but more so when it's wearing out.
It could just be your drive plate is a bit warped / glazed.

Oh Dear,
Sounds like I may have a big job coming soon.
Guess I drive it until the clutch starts slipping when fully engaged and then change it.
Anybody ever changed a Legacy clutch? Engine or gearbox out?
