Please help I have a subaru 2012 sti 340r with 33,000 miles on the clock , unfortunately I don't use it enough 😭 due to work and money etc, so it has been stood for about 6 months, so this weekend I cleaned her up charged battery up, it started straight away let her get warm, then took it for a steady drive, after about 40 or so minutes when everything was nice and warm, i thought I would accelerate harder, as I did this it accelerated fine then started to boost then spluttering and jerking as I was accelerating so backed off and tried again same thing happened, this time it tripped the engine light, traction control light and the flashing S mode light? Any idea's please it was fine when I last used it, will put code reader on it tonight, so any help will be more then welcome.

 

was this with 6mth old fuel in it?

 

Yes it was, you think dirty fuel is causing this 🤔

 

Not dirty just off fuel.

Run it down on it just driving about then stick some fresh 99ron stuff in it and see does it pick up.

 

Thanks for the info buddy, filled up with super plus and injector cleaner last night and it's loads better, plus I read the codes P0302 cylinder 2 misfire detected, I really should use the car more

 

yeah sounds like old fuel just. run that new tank & cleaner through it, again just driving around normally. then on your next fill it should all be nice fresh stuff so able to drive the car harder without issue. i assume you just cleared the codes?

 

Yes all cleared, just incase it throws up new codes
