Feel as if my 20g turbo is a bit dated now, making just over 400bhp on my 2005 Sti, using a bit of meth to help.

Car comes to life between 3500rpm and 4000rpm, still on standard topmount intercooler.

looking for definite 400bhp , but without meth and still pulling from around 3500rpm.

MD321H is preferred choice, or SC42 as these are tried and tested units, however the hefty price tag is a slight turn off,

would buying a blouch turbo direct from usa save anything once tax etc paid, the link below says this is a 20g equivalent, but 440bhp rated?

I opted for the SC38 which is blouch turbo, i have quite a few bolt on mods, i have kept the original TMIC aswell, the car made 413/358 with the turbo + bolt on upgrades, which made slightly over the 400bhp.



I then had a meth map, car then made 436/385 and is exactly how i wanted to the car to drive, torque @ 4k revs is 350 lb.



Its also good for a 12.16 @ 112mph 1/4 mile.

TMIC, full weight.

 

I'm in the same boat at the minute. Trying to decide between a TD05 18/20G, or an SC38/42, or an MD321H.

It'd be nice to crack 400bhp, but equally i wouldn't mind having a fast responding car with 370-380.

Those are good results on an SC38, what bolt ons do you have? I plan on keeping the TMIC too

Nice result from that sc38, I bet that's ace on the road.

 

It is very good to drive actually, has the same low down torque characteristics as a standard vf35, just now pulls to 7k revs easily

whats the difference between the Scoobyclinic sc38 and a blouch 18G-XT-R turbo, is the scoobyclinic sc38 a ball bearing turbo?

SC38 is journal bearing, based on TD05 i think,

Sure all the XT-R are Ball bearing GT28/GT30 Based/Copy

 

I think the blouch equivalent of the SC38 is the 18G-XT,

As with Blouch,

XT = Journal Bearing

XT-R Ball Bearing

 

I assume the ball bearing turbo is better? Is it worth the extra cost tho?
