Default Gearbox code and Driveshaft swapability front to rear

Just wondering if anyone can help me with a couple of questions -

first can anyone tell me what gearbox code will be fitted to a 2000 plate UK model Impreza Wagon?

second question is a bit more of a weird one... do the front and rear driveshafts share any common connections at any point - inboard, outboard, if the UJ's can be split and joined...?! Reason I'm asking is I want to use the engine and box at the rear of a car rather than the front, and would like to use the rear uprights, hubs etc connected to the gearbox.

The driveshaft CV's are not teh same front to back. the gearbox code will be VN1AA (3.9 front diff, 3.454 rear)
Ive done a bit with the shafts myself

That's an epic conversion mate, well done! Thanks as well, that will help loads. If needs be I'll get the drive shafts altered by a pro as whilst I'm not incompetent I've not got the skills to do what you have, was just wishful thinking that it might be an easy job lol.

Could be that the front shafts will fit into the rear hub.. dont know for sure, but the spline is the same.

No the spline that fits in the hub itself.

length, size of the CV, he should test that it would fit.
I have to check it, but if the ball radius and ball size in the CV's are the same he can put the front inner cv cup on a rear inner joint.

the part that goes through the hub with the hub nut on the outside is called the outer CV joint, I think this splined length is different front to rear.
