Default Tyre recommendations

Hey,

What tyres do you guys run? When I imported my hawkeye spec c it came with Yokohama 235/45 R17 94W tyres but they need replacing now and I'm not really sure what to go for. I think I want ones that are fairly good all year round. I've seen a few say p zeros? Are they good?

Thanks

Goodyear Eagle F1's were one of the best everyday road tires I had.

I run 225 p zeros on mine, everyone has different taste. I don't recommend Michelin, I had bad experience with those but that's just my opinion. Happy with my p zeros

Thanks Kedlestone, those do have good reviews on black circles. I've never really looked at high quality tyres before, if I have 235 now should I stick or think about 225 for example?

Eagle F1's or for a little more the Michelin Pilot Sport 3's are awesome all round tyres. Get them for about 75-85 a corner on line.

Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta*you can get these at £57 a corner online bargain of the year
Bridgestone RE070 great summer tyre, but don't last very long. First set I had lasted 2.5k miles

Eagle f1 seem to be winning. When I have enough money for a second set of rims with tyres I'll definitely get some summer tyres

I've currently got Poteza RE070's at the mo, I've heard good things about Nankang ns2r so I'll probably give them a try next

I've had both Vredestein's all the way for me on par with the Goodyear any day of the week

Thanks Steve, for the £60-80 price difference (the cost of a 4 wheel alignment) I think I'll give them a go!

I personally hated the eagle F1 ass2, I found them way to soft. I Replaced them with Yokohama Ad08r and there's no competition crazy levels of grip strong sidewalls and turn in response,

A heavy new age on 17'' really does need a tyre with a strong side wall.

Agree, F1s on a newage okay for pottering but no good if you like to drive hard.

I've had toyo's and re050's, both were poor on a newage, then I heard good thing's about Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta. I tried them and wow! they are the best tyre I have ever had. I have recommended them to loads of people and the ones that have got them are very pleased with them

I paid £97 each 3 years ago and they are down to £65 now, Bargain

The only other tyres I would consider are Eagle F1's asym's

Just throwing this out there - I have Hankook ven. evo II on my ST225 and I feel like Tony the tiger - "they're great". I did have P zero's, but found slipped all over the place, but remember it's FWD. Michelin seem to be ok once they have warmed up.

Went for the F1 XL's in the end... couldn't find sessantas at that size and the £60 saving on the PS3's equates to 4 wheel alignment.
