Default Duncan at Racedynamix or another Southern Mapper

Hi guys,

has anyone heard from Duncan recently? I've just had a lot of work done at Extreme Scoobies and need the car mapped before I head to Le Mans next Wednesday evening. Paul has been trying to get hold of him for the last 10 days but with no joy.

Alternatively, does anyone know of a/recommend a mapper who can travel to Essex to map the car before next weds eve?

Any help would be really appreciated.

Chris

I understand Duncan is under an avalanche of work and can't find enough hours in the day, so in the short term an alternative might be the best option.
I've had a few tries but any reply comes belated.

Thanks guys! Finally been in touch with Duncan and all is good! So relieved that I'll have the car for the run to Le Mans....although it's been a slightly stressful afternoon!

Think my mechanic was the one who called him 20 times! Lol

Yep, im just waiting for Bob to come back to the uk to map mine as i had to unfortunately cancel him on 15th May due to a blowing gasket....gutted. I believe he is in Portugal at the mo. I was just after a mapper to get some advise on my old mans new S2000 but i wont hijack this thread for that.

Im lucky Bobs in Swindon as im hoping to get in and finish mine off soon!

Thanks for all the help guys, really decent bunch on here!

Got down to see Duncan today....all was going well up to 315BHP and then one of the 'new' STI injector O rings went.....cue a strong smell of smell and a little bit of panic.

Unfortunately Duncan is going on Holiday 2mo so he said he'll leave it at a safe 300BHP and the O ring will be replaced 2mo so I can at least take it to Le Mans on Wednesday!

300BHP (Duncan doesn't think it will get past 320BHP on my mods - VF35, pinks, 225 fuel pump, decat save for a Prodrive sports cat) isn't too bad for a wagon but want 340BHP really....don't s'pose anyone has an STI TMIC to sell?

How in the blue hell can it be safe, if it's leaking fuel?

He's not a mechanic he's a mapper and a very good one. Every time I got mapping a make sure there is a mechanic in the building just in case something goes wrong.
Duncan is a great lad. We got him coming down again to map 3 of our cars

whoa...calm down gents.

We couldn't get a mechanic down yesterday, one is coming today to replace the seal.

Duncan said that he had done enough at that point for the car to run on a safe map of 300BHP, how he has done that I don't know but I do trust him.

Guess I will find out later as when the O ring has been replaced SRR are going to dyno it again.

Does the above make sense?

I had some injectors fitted at Zen along with other mods, the car was subsequently mapped but on getting home there was a strong smell of fuel caused by a leaking O ring on one of the injectors. There was no indication beforehand and the car was safely mapped.

Quoted for prosperity, if your car is to ever go up in flames.

You do realise that it's not the liquid of petrol that ignites, don't you?

So...got a call from the guys at SRR this afternoon to let me know the other 2 injector seals had gone....slight panic but Charlie got someone he trusted to come and replace all the seals....still an extra £200 I'm annoyed to have paid as I thought it would have been done right the first time. Still, at least I am confident the job has been done properly now and the car is safe!

Anyway, it's mapped to 295 and running rich to keep it safe as Duncan didn't get a chance
to map it to its full potential before his holiday. When he's back hopefully I'll have a STI TIMC on and we can push for 330+!

Still, really enjoyed the drive home with the new power, the better sounding exhaust system and the VF35 which sounds awesome when I'm on boost! It feels like a totally different car! Looking forward to the Le Mans run!
