Default Anyone running godspeed brakes and pads?

Looking to get something better than stock but don't need the big upgrade kits for what I do.

Is anyone using a similar kit to this: http://www.godspeedbrakes.co.uk/impr...port-pads.html

Better than standard?

Disks have been fine for me, even with heavy track work. Kevlar pads will last probably two corners on track (toasted mine in half a lap of Silverstone national) but they're very clean and quiet for road use.

I've been using the 335mm set with Blue Stuff on my Wagon for the past couple of years (including some Sprints).
Very pleased with the results.

I phoned Godspeed and spoke to them about my Subaru, told them how I drive and they sent me a set of disks and pads and they've been spot on. I wouldn't go elsewhere.

Been using Ian's stuff for best part of twelve years now. No regrets.

I'd phone him and discuss your requirements, then fit what he tells you.

I think Ian´s
Big brake upgrade that uses the refurbished Subaru 4 pot calipers and has the big 335mm grooved discs are brilliant value for the performance they offer.

http://www.godspeedbrakes.co.uk/153-...00-classic?p=2

Yes there are better brakes out there. But for the performance they provide for the money they are great. Give as much stopping power as most road going imprezas will ever need.

I tried them with different pads and personally found EBC blues to be the best with them out of the pads I tried
(My pad of choice is Pagid)

I have the same setup on my UK Turbo. They do stop well enough on the road, can squeal a tiny bit and have a got a line of rust around the painted centres where the pads don't clean that part of the disc.
For the money though they are good. Was looking at Tarox but they were coming in at close on a grand for discs only!

I've had a few bits from Godspeed and find their service very good. Very helpful. But I wouldn't recommend the Kevlar pads if you drive hard. Mine faded badly and painted the disc in pad deposits.

But as has been said many times before, that is not what the Kevlar pad is for!

You need a stronger pad if you are going to be speeding up and stamping on the brakes for prolonged periods.

This , we never recommend the kevlar pads for the harder driver , never have , never will , kevlar pads are the first step up from standard , work from cold , are quiet , and easy on discs , and will be better performing than a standard pad when pressing on.
They suit probably 95% of users who use there cars as everyday drives , going to work , kids to school ect , then giving it some stick now and again.

If you use the car harder than this , then you need a better pad , simples .

There are loads of makes and compounds of pads available , you just need to find the right ones for YOUR needs

Cheers Ian

I did find the right pads for my needs (Hawk HP Plus), I was just giving my opinion of the Kevlar pads when I ran them.

I have the 335mm 2 piece set up on mine along with kevlar pads and a set of Brembo gran turismo 4 pots. Cant fault the discs and pads at all for fast road use, would be more than happy to buy the same again.

Cheers Ross.

your opinion is the same as ours , as in not suitable for the harder driver , for the correct application they are very good
Cheers Ian

Also running Godspeed discs front and rear with Kevlar pads on my 05 STi and very pleased with them but also worth mentioning I also changed my brake hoses to metal braided ones which give a better pedal feel.

I thought I was the only one thinking these kevlar pads are crap, only had my car a few months and they came with it. Looking at better pad for fast road.
