I've just bought a classic UK turbo after feeling inspired by some rally and rally cross on TV.

Is there anywhere I can take my own car?
I've Googled it but can only find gift days using their cars or rally cross clubs where you race.

I just want a trackday type thing but off road.

This, trying to 'rally' a standard Impreza will nacker it pretty quickly.

 

Correct. Ask yourself why rally cars get rebuilt after a rally.

 

Take it to Yarwell 4x4 centre :-) ,, at least there will be plenty of landys handy to tow you out when you get stuck :-) ,,, quite a bit of flat sandy/muddy runs there even just innthe car park to get it sideways on

A bit of sensible advice, I don't think there's anything available for what your after, however the closest you will get to it if you have the funds is either Rallycross or Road Rallying, the later I do myself in a 2.0l 205 GTI but not as much as I once did. There are quite a few boys running N/A 2.5 Impreza's and getting some very good results as turbo cars have been banned for quite a few years but with any motorsport it's not cheap and be prepared to give up your Saturday night's visit to bed as these events run from 12am to around 5-6am on Sunday morning. You'll need to join a motor club and apply to the MSA for a non race national B licence. I have Marshalled on the Wales rally GB Quite a few times and you have to drive onto the stages did Walters arena and drove it at the end of the day at about 3/4 rally speed really good fun BTW the cars ok

Joining a motor club is the way to go I have a little 1.4 nova and it's just as much fun as a Scooby, better in some ways. Sweet lamb road rally was the best rally I've ever done, gravel, jumps, water splashes and loads of sideways action all in a little old nova

Do you know any farmers who have decent farm tracks or a nice flat field on their land ?

Could be fun in an old impreza and shouldn't cause to many issues

I doubt a farmer is going to let somebody churn up a field (their livelihood) with a car. They have enough issues with hare coursing and other such things without rally stages.

You can or course take an impreza down a muddy track but you will certainly brake something if you drive at speed it's not a matter of if but when.

You will beat the crap out if it to the point it can't be driven anymore and will only be good for scrap. There are massive differences between the rally cars and the road version. And even the £300,000 WRC versions rebuilt each rally with new parts would break on a regular basis.

So if you do it only do it with a car you are planning on scraping.

Also if you drive elsewhere then on a road without permission it's obviously an offence.

There are track days with rally elements as above and that's your easiest option.

Then there is actual Motorsport which as above is a big continent and expense. (Not as cheap as top gear make out.

Roofer man, that looks like it might be what I'm after.
I've got an M3 track car and love rwd on the track, I think the impreza will have to much grip for my liking on a track.
I want to be able to break traction and have some fun with it.

I'd love to get into racing but know it will be expensive and that's not fiesable at the minute.

I'm not expecting to hammer the car and expect it to keep working.
