Octavia RS
Just a quick one really. Im thinking of buying one because it appeals on a number of levels.
1. Its quick and tunable
2. Level of equipment as standard is exceptional.
3 Low insurance
4. Unlikely to be car jacked !!!
I like the look and i hear AWD do a non intrustive tune from standard up to ~210 from 180 brake for £550 (Id love to know how they get 30 BHP with no mods)
What does everyone think ? Also does it have the throaty burbles and whoosh of the scooby?
Also few boy racers have em as the "skoda thing" of old puts em off. Thats good because they have a tendancy to crash and make the car harder to insure.

I like them. They don't have the whoosh or the push of a Scooby, and have a more normally aspirated feel with a wide flat topped torque curve from very low down. For build quality and subtle image they beat a Scooby hands down. Nice leather interior.
My wife's got one, so I can compare to a MY00. As John says, there's no turbo "kick in the back", just a steady push. It's much more civilised than the scoob, but noticeably slower. Build quality is superb, as is the level of kit you get as standard - it feels a lot more special to sit in than the scoob. Insurance is v. cheap (she pays about £375 a year), fuel economy good (about 38mpg on a run), and it cost her £5k less than the scoob cost me.
Horses for courses really - I like the RS a lot, but at the end of the day I prefer the scoob. Drive one and make your own mind up!
