Default uprated fuel pump wiring?

I'm wanting to uprate the pump wiring on my newage car. I dont have a problem with doing the wiring. I will use the o/e wiring to excite a relay.
The issue im stuck with is how do i pass the new wiring through the top of the sender unit and keep it sealed.
I dont want to use the o/e plug for the pump as its already melted the two pump wires. But i will retain it for the fuel guage.

Any suggestions on how to keep it sealed and safe welcomed

Mel

Remove that part from the car (well away) allow fuel vapor from it to dissipate (remove sock filter etc) potentially wrap all the lower section in a bag or similar and then drill a hole in the cover. Use a tight fitting grommet and then seal with a good sealant? Make sure no metal fragments get in the sender etc (hence wrapping).
