Default Whining noise after driving fast.

Got a 330bhp classic with a standard 5 speed box and helix paddle clutch, engine/box done about 110,000km I noticed after driving the car pretty hard up for about 2 minutes when I started to slow down it was whining a lot, like being in reverse gear type of noise, would be a great sound if I had the proper gearbox that makes the noise but a mine isn't can someone shed some light on what it maybe, gear oil is recent and still on the dip stick mark.

Any joy? My first thought would be to try a different gearbox oil and go from there likelihood is that it's knackered though if it started after a hard drive

Unsure yet, as took it out on road test and the stupid front caliper decided to seize on the new discs so its back in workshop till Wednesday when the new calipers go on. My thoughts are its knackered also but I guess there is no harm in hoping lol.

Well after I hoped the oil change had worked, I accelerated hard in 5th gear and annoyingly afterwards I had some whining, probably lasted for about 5 minutes then stopped.... Is this the signs of box breaking ????

Noise happened again today, however this time I put it into neutral and revved the engine an the whining noise changed with the revs, any idea what it could be or anything I can check

power steering pump. brim it with fluid (past the full mark) and that will shut it up. worked on mine for years.

Even when the noise happens when not steering, can be just stationary and doing nothing but revving.... If it is the pump, why does it do it occasionally? is it a sign of waring out or a belt needing replacing... Why would overfilling the fluid stop the noise from happening? Thanks
