Default Smog

Here in buchkinghamshire the air stinks. I assume it's the smog and was thinking.

With 'global warming' and this freaky weather set to get worse should we be thinking of using masks while walking the dogs along roads etc?

I've always wanted a gas mask as I think they are wicked and would be good for the bathroom.

But what type of mask is good for walking around in? Those dusk masks are usless as are the ones doctors wear.

Just want to get in there before the zombie apocalypse.

Don't bother, your health just isn't that important.

Isn't smog a natural occurrence caused by daffodils flowering. Sure I read so on here posted by one of the scoobynet faithful

There's a bit of air pollution around caused by various weather conditions, same as there is every year from time to time, but I suspect the government want to bring in some new environmental tax so have told the state funded broadcaster/government mouthpiece/paedophile haven that is the BBC to ramp up the fear factor in preparation for it!

You're getting worse

I take it the 'state funded broadcasters' include SKY and CNN?? They appear to be on to the same scam - maybe they will be getting some of this new tax revenue.

Nope, maybe they are just following the BBC's lead, jumping on the bandwagon... who knows these days with the media.... they stopped reporting the news a long time ago and move in to opinionated drivel instead!

Or maybe they are all news organisations, and air pollution at high levels is a news story?

Radical I know

News organisations.....

As said it's no higher than on various other occasions so why is it 'news' today then? Just after the BBC had a day of increasingly desperate climate change scare stories too.... but you, in your continuing support of them, will no doubt swallow it all hook, line and sinker!

Crack on if it makes you feel good to do so... I on the other hand will take a more questioning view which I have learned, where UK governments and media are concerned, is the best approach!

So there have been deaths because of this 'pollution' in the last few days have there? Apologies then as I didn't realise that!

Nothing is ever just what it is, is it?

Is there any news story that they are allowed to cover without you screaming 'conspiracy'?

The really mad thing is that if there were deaths, and the government hadn't warned people - then you'd be jumping up and down about that too

Would I? It's ironic you seem to be able to know how I think when your own thinking is so severely limited! Now kindly refrain from putting words in my mouth or I won't be so polite next time!

For the third time these 'pollution' levels are no higher than on other occasions in the last decade or so yet they weren't headline news then so you tell me why they are now then?

So in your expert opinion what should have been on the news today.

Er... newsworthy items.... Chilean earthquake, shooting in USA, Ukraine or how about those things the government don't want to talk about like the EU debate, the continuing emergence of further covered up failures by the banks, energy compay investigation, insurance industry investigation... all those things where their mates are getting shafted!

Well you could always not watch the non-news or if it's that important to you start your own news channel. I am surprised that you don't have your own blog

Any chance you two could get a room? Watching the pair of you having yet another little lovers tiff is making the rest of us feel awkward

I have to be honest, no. It's more like watching a dog chase it's tale, quite funny but more than a little stupid at the same time.

I was curious just how bad this 'worst-ever-recorded' pollution really was, as I'd failed to notice very much in the way of hard figures in any of the news snippets I'd seen so far. Astonishingly I found my answer on the Beeb's own website, and truth is, even with our pollution currently reaching 10 on the UK govt scale, our air is still 100 times less polluted than a typical day in Beijing.
(Link - http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-26864896)

This of course came as quite a relief, and I've now canceled my bulk order for the gas masks
