Bob Crow dead

He was on £145,000 a year ..... and worth every single penny to his Members who paid him that.
Tube Drivers get around £65,000 a year - not great, granted, but not bad ...... and Bob Crow secured those salary levels.
Was he a dinosaur? I don't think so ..... everyone on here would want him negotiating their Terms and Conditions!
We need men and women like him - people who stand by their principles ... unlike the spineless MP's!!

RMT aren't worth **** when it comes to private companies, Pete.
Even City Link beat them in court, because the RMT held an illegal strike ballot.

Yes, I'm all for social housing if only those who earn £150k + per year get it. After all they put the most into the coffers so they are the most deserving of something back.
So have we finally found common ground then?

Yup. I wonder how many of those singing his posthumous praises live in London and have been faced with the chaos he has caused with his strikes.
He has held the whole of London to ransom and cost the economy billions just to further the vested interests of a 'handful' of employees.

We bailed out the banks and underwrite their collective risk taking so they don't bring our economic system to a standstill.

I'm not sure that justice can be measured by money.
It's acquired in many ways.
By your logic, someone who lives out of the pocket of 100 people just because he owns their homes, is more 'deserving' that someone who maybe works 70 hours a week on minimum wage so they can support their family.

And yes he certainly wasn't as shi1t as the bankers
They brought the global economy to its knees
Causing 300 trillion pounds worth of damage to billions of people
But the cVnt did live in a council house - what a fvcking loser

Oh it is a total racket Einstein
Capitalism (and "free" markets) require transparency, otherwise it is simply racketeering
And sadly we have racketeering

I respect what he stood for, but that's as far as it goes. He effectively held the country to ransom with his strategically timed strikes, punishing the millions of commuters / family's / tourists etc that just want to go about their lives doing their jobs, having a decent holiday / day out etc. good riddens to an idiot as far as I'm concerned.

Before you get all teary eyed over his death, just remember what he said about Margaret Thatcher...
"I wont shed one single tear over her death. She destroyed the NHS and destroyed industry in this country and as far as I'm concerned she can rot in hell"

So you're comparing one person to a whole industry . He was your typical champagne socialist who wined and dined with the bankers.

He was a prime example of a heart attack waiting to happen. All day I've been hearing various 'friends' of his on the radio / TV saying how shocking it was as he was 'very fit' and went to the gym etc etc. he wasnt fit in the slightest. He was grossly overweight. Ate very rich foods, drunk lots of booze etc etc. a heart attack waiting to happen.

They only say that to score points.
They hate the idea of someone either not owning their own home, or not paying rent to a landlord.
Why is that?
It's nothing to do with 'fairness' but making such all suffer equally.

Comparing him to bankers does him a disservice - Bob Crow was brilliant at his job, Bankers are crap at theirs.
One takes a small salary from very happy payers, the other takes big fat salaries by screwing every person in the country.
He played his cards well - why shouldn't tube drivers earn something approaching the salary of those they are transporting?

Oh! in that case good thing the communist cvunt is dead then. The way the BBC eulogised him both on the news site and on the 10 o'clock news was ridiculous. If it was up to them then he would get a state funeral too I'm sure!

Yeah but the people who were vilifying him don't even support the idea of social housing.

Not at all, but he should have moved out and left it for some one else to occupy
And that other old crow should NOT have flogged off stock to buy votes ( without commitment to replace )

Don't be so obtuse, you are starting to make a fool of yourself by always comparing every topic of conversation to BTL. You just come across as a one dimensional troll.
What I have issue with is the idea that somebody who earns £165k per year continues to live in a tax payer subsidised property. As a so called man of principle did he really think he was the most deserving of this precious commodity?
His council property was also none too shoddy btw, four bed detached.

Nobody will take you seriously unless you've got bargaining power. Fortunately for his members and unfortunately for his protagonists Bob had plenty of bargaining power and the testicular fortitude to use it. Ultimately his loyalty and effort was to get the best deal for his members. He was doing something right as he pissed a lot of people off.
