BBC3 to close!
Agree with most above, BBC3 would be no great loss. Struggling to think of a decent show to come out of it.
Family Guy is the only thing I occasionally watch, and even that hasn't been funny since season 8. It'll no doubt get moved to another channel, BBC wouldn't buy it at expensive cost no doubt, just to put it on iPlayer.
Suppose I enjoy the live festival shows, but they'd just get moved to red button or another channel anyway.

The first series of Gavin and Stacey was good, and I do like Being Human, but that's about it for me as far as BBC3 is concerned, I can't see that they do anything that couldn't be picked up by BBC2
BBC4 on the other hand has some great documentaries on, I'd be sorry to see that go

I remember the BBC whining they wanted two extra channels, and everyone saying they didn't have the quality to fill the two they had.
Then they get them and broadcast on them five hours a day.
Get them gone, and make the BBC EARN it's money..
I still fume about someone writing into the Radio1 breakfast show, complaining about how much inane talk they got, compared to other shows, the talk:music ratio was highest on Radio1.
The smug DJ basically read out the letter, then said, laughing, "Well, due to the unique way the BBC is funded, we do it because....we CAN!"
Sums them up.

Or you could of course exercise your right to protest and stop buying anything that's ever advertised on TV
If you purchase any of the products that are advertised on TV on any commercial channel, you're paying the premium which it costs the makers of that product to have it advertised, whether or not you ever watch the commercial channel in question.
Or you could of course exercise your right to protest and stop buying anything that's ever advertised on TV

The equivalent would be having to purchase said products even though I never watch the channels which the adverts are on!
In summary yoru analogy is sh1te!
