Looking really good Ty, one little freshen up job you could also do one is to remove the pulley's and simply clean and paint that's all I've done on mine.

I hadn't thought of that but now you have planted the idea they will have a nice matt black finish applied to them, you cannot see it but there is actually an RCM crankshaft pulley in place in a pewter like colour.

The Forge recirculating valve turned up today which I was not expecting as I only paid for it on Friday evening.

I have also ordered a set of Venair turbo hoses as I couldn't get the Samco hoses for at least 4 weeks possibly even as long as 6 weeks.

Having done some reading up on Venair the quality seems top notch and certainly as good as Samco, ideally I would have liked Samco but the wait would just be too long as I want to get the chav valve off the car ASAP.

I also made a bit of a discovery on Saturday in as much as the exhaust I thought was a little loud for my liking has no cats anywhere on it at all, plus as the car is also running the standard ECU as well.

Plus I have also ordered a Japspeed alloy radiator from the GB that they are currently running.

No cats!! That should be a whole lot more fun! You should be receiving another package tomorrow.

Looking forward to seeing the finished piece, I see you mentioned about private plates previously. Mine was £250 all in from DVLA and looks okay I think.

Thanks Rob for getting the fog lamp covers out to me.

I am not sure that potentially waiting for overboost to arrive is my definition of fun if I am being 100% honest, I now to have to wait to see which direction to go either ESL / aftermarket ECU or put a catted downpipe back into place.

I already have a plate on retention that I am going to put on the car, anyone want to buy M500SUB?

Hope you saw the in my response to the 22B/S202 reply?

I belive that they do Ian, but I personally I like red hoses in the engine bay.

Yes I did see the in your response but there are some nuggets on that thread, they can't see past their own blinkers.

Unfortunately Glenn the standard ECU cannot be remapped unless an ESL board is fitted, there are other options such as Alcatek, Simtek etc and they all cost a lot more than I'd expected or planned to pay at this stage.

Some pics of the fog lamp covers that arrived today, I think they look a lot better and I prefer the front end looking less 'busy'.

Nice work!
A number plate holder would improve the front end IMHO to make the plate sit vertical, original part here:

It was no biggie, just one screw per side and making sure the retaining tabs were located properly, my talents know no end.

Thanks for the link, I'll get that sorted.

I don't suppose that anyone has a standard catted downpipe that they'd like to loan / sell me until I can get the car remapped under ESL for a sports car or the current decat downpipe.

I'm really nervous of continuing to use the car with a decat downpipe given what could happen when over boosting.

I wonder if I'll find a manual boost controller / bleed valve next?

My number plate is just held on by double sided tape, sits fine. Happy with the covers then?

Yes thanks Rob they fitted like a dream, they do need a repaint like you said but that'll have to wait until after the summer is out of the way.

They're not too bad for a 16 year old OEM part, I think they have faired quite well! At least you've got them now. I could have kept them but at I'm happy I've helped another owner out. :-)

I far prefer the look to the fog lights being there, and I'm grateful that you sold them to me as finding original parts is not an easy task for these cars.

Today the radiator arrived from Japspeed and despite me having doubts about it's quality I have to say the welding is really good as is the quality of the metal used. Everything aligns with the original radiator meaning that installation should be a breeze albeit that the core is slightly larger which should equal better cooling and flow.

I had my doubts that for the price it must be said but having seen one in the flesh I would happily recommend anyone looking for a new radiator to buy one of these.

For the price including delivery of £109.99 I really don't know how they do it but they do, it must be that they apply the buy them cheap and pile them high rule of selling.
