A decision i'm sure you'll both regret when the values start to rise for things like RA's and Type R's, something which I think is starting to happen, a la mk1 & mk2 Ford Escort's and Cosworths which have been through the chav chariot faze and now command very good money.
My advice is tuck one away now while they are still reasonable money.

and having seen pictures of some of the cars on here along with their street racing tales, its not too far from the truth.

Yep and what a chav image they had a few years back, commanding decent money now, even one of my old fave cars MK2 XR2's of which I had 3/4 decent ones are £5k now. I let a friend have my last one for £400 because she was broke and desperate for a car with 3 kids in tow, was a good one too, she drove it into a bus inside 2 weeks, I was REALLY p!ssed at her.

If you go though life worrying about what other people think, you will have a crap time. F+ck what other people think. If you like it and can afford it, buy it! You only live once.

If I worried about what other people think, id be driving a boring BMW diesel Been driving chav motors for the last 11 years, and the reason there chav, is because they are affordable on most peoples budgets.: Unfortunately I can't afford a AMG merc or a new shape M3 etc and I would'nt want to go into debt/finance for one either, as there are much more important things in life then a car!!

i dont go through life getting worried what people think of me,as long as im enjoying it then thats all that matters
not owning a car you want due to some people perhaps thinking you are a chav is a little weak in my opinion
yes there is some awful examples of the impreza out there but thats the same with many a car these days

And no I do not have a Subaru jacket, stickers, scooby do cuddly toy, cap etc anything else that you consider chav worthy. Wanna know why, I'm not a chav.

I have to say, I did see a horrible chav mobile today. A green s reg turbo saloon covered and I do mean covered, in stickers. Worst of all, the owner had fitted an sti 8 bonnet scoop..........but it was still in grey primer!
But that has to be the first bad one I have seen for well over a year now. Quite a few nice Type R's and Newage cars around my way.
I found that the really bad time for Impreza's was between 2004 - 2008. Probably due to money being far easier to obtain. Then the banking crisis hit which meant no more loans for everyone.
Just what I have experienced. Obviously different region to region I guess.

Your a chav which is why the label bothers you.
I used to care what people thought of me but now I couldn't give a **** what people think, I drive subarus because I like the performance and sound and I have learnt about them and know them better than any car i've ever owned, knowledge that has cost me £££ to discover.
I'd like to own an old 911 3.2 SC or a BMW Z3M Coupe but decent ones of either start at about £15k which is money I don't have for a car at the moment, then I'd have to start learning about them to be able to service and fix them when they go wrong or have a spare £20k tucked away to be able to afford all eventualities and pay someone to do it for me, but i've been down that road and don't trust anyone because they're usually all about money and just want to cream you for as much as possible.
So I drive what I know how to fix and can afford to own and run, there's plenty of good cars out there that I can afford to own and learn how to fix but none of them would make me feel the way a subaru does.
I like the fact that people want to prove their car against mine, (even though I don't race) it tells me I have something special because they feel the need to try and have a go means they are envious of my little chav chariot.
People see the Subaru Impreza as a performance "Bench Mark" if they race one they tell their friends about it like an excited school boy that saw some tit and had a grope for the first time, when people see what I drive it's always a topic of conversation, no matter what the age, it excites people and they want a ride to see how it goes, even had a Croatian traffic cop in the passenger seat of my Type R telling me to go faster like a 10yr old kid all excited grinning from ear to ear as it came on boost, I let the back end get a bit out of shape and he was squealing like a B!tch,
There aren't many cars out there that can do that and evoke such emotion in people especially for the price, if some people then want to call me a chav for owning one I take it as a sign that the envy has got the better of them, the reality being that they would secretly love to own one and be able to drive one how I can (Not that i'm a hero) but I can manipulate them so as to be able to enjoy it safely, which for me as a petrol head and car nut is a great feeling.
I don't have a huge **** but these cars make me feel like i'm walking around with one the size of an elephants trunk hanging out of my trousers dragging on the floor.
Such is the reaction they provoke from men and women alike.
So yeah I'm a chav and my car is an extension of my *****, it makes girls **** hood go back and blokes envious.
