Default Mangoletsi Launch Event

Thought I'd put up some pics from Mangoletsi's launch event. Many thanks to John and the team for making it an enjoyable evening!

It was a very good turnout there were a lot of cars there from LADS, SOCOM and CADS.

There were some lovely limited edition Imprezas and this fantastic Litchfield.

Especially this one!

The new car in blue and white. Cracking looking car.

Recommended tyre width for an 8J rim is 225 or 235 at the most.

Would need ET45 offset to fill the arches..........

The 18x8.5J would be a straight swap if an ET55 available. Could probably get away with an ET45, if arch clearance similar to the MY11 saloon before arch rolling etc needed

ET not good :-(

Why can't we have the option of the wheels other countries get? It seems odd that Subaru provide different wheels as standard in different countries and you can choose the other options. Is there some kind of ruling for different countries, I really like the American version which seems closest to the original concept.

The Americans also get Harmon Kardon system but no mention of this on the uk one so will have to rely on your exhaust note.

Not at all, I spoke to John earlier today. He's working his wotsits off to get the huge batch of customer orders through as quickly as possible.

These cars are massively in demand I'd advise anyone who wants one to get their name down ASAP.

It's bloody fantastic too by the way, seriously anyone who's half interested should take one out for a blast.

I very nearly bought one myself last week but can't quite justify running two at the same time at the moment.

Not abandoned at all guys, sorry I been quiet, but with the success of the launch event, I was then at Tatton Park on Sunday, getting ready for Prodrive this Sunday, I am struggling to keep up to date with all that is going on, and all the orders and enquiry's on the new car have caught me a little off guard.

The event on Saturday night was a huge success as I'm sure newgalaxy will confirm, the whole site was full of Subaru's. Posted some pics on out facebook site.

I have had the re-map running on my car since Saturday, but won't have the exhaust until end of next week, so not got rolling roads printout yet, but with just the re-map we are getting an extra 35-40bhp in the 3 cars we have done.

So far in 600 miles, I have managed up to 29.5 mpg in sport mode on a run from home to work of 35 miles, with half motorway (at 70 of course...) and other half main road. Not tried intelligent mode as yet, but I think 29.5 is quite respectable, especially as I have a heavy right foot.

If anyone wants to make the trip to Knutsford to have a look and a drive of my demo, they are more than welcome, don't worry, you don't have to buy one just to drive one.

Hi John.
I got mine from Perkins Ford on the 18th, and so far (apart from an annoying vibration in the passenger door panel) we are very happy with it.

However, a few days ago, another member on here private messaged me to ask me to check the metal fins on the top of the intercooler. He had himself just picked up a new sti, and had noticed quite a few of the fins were damaged, despite the car being new.
So I went outside and popped the bonnet on mine (which has now done about 600 miles) and found some of mine are damaged as well. Is this normal on a brand new sti?
Surely not?

Not sure what to do now, as I've emailed Perkins about it but had no response in over 24 hours, despite also having a telephone conversation with the salesman as well.

I know the guy who messaged you really well, and just checked on our demo and that has a few bent fins. With an intercooler that happens more often than not, even air pressure can bend them they are such a light metal. A few bent fins have no impact on performance whatsoever, it is purely cosmetic. If it did impact performance, the rally boys would be straightening theirs all the time, and I can assure you they don't.

We are getting a special tool to straighten them out, so I am sure if you speak to your dealer they should be able to do the same for you.

Hi Hulkster
It only takes a large fly to bend them. You should see mine on my MY11 after 66k I am constantly straightening them up.
The scoobyclinic MY15 had one spot of bent fins with only 8 miles on the clock.

Watch out at services or even if you are under the bonnet as if you put a hand on the intercooler it will bend fins.

Trying to find one, I can only find a wheel type, I want to get a proper one to do one fin at a time. more time consuming but much better results. Will let you know when I find one

Guys - how hard is it to remove a door-trim panel? This vibration i'm getting is doing my head in. Don't fancy taking my car to the nearest Subaru dealer (Derek Slacks) as thats 30 miles away and I would have to leave my brand new sti with them while they pull it to bits and have multiple road tests to hear the noise etc....

Anyone know what the likely cause of the vibration will be? It even does it when the music is turned up?

On another note - my god this car covers ground quickly. Without even breaking a sweat. I'm a good boy when it comes to speed limits, but this sti is frightening when you look down and see what warp-factor you are doing. I spend most of my time looking at the blumming speedo instead of the road! Not good!

Hulk just make sure its not tha panel itself, if it is open the door and look at the bottom, see if you cant stuff in some Felt, Cardboard to test if it cures it. Ive had this on many cars and its normally the panel, but if its inside, then Dons ya Man
