Agreed, to some it looks like he is wasting his life. In reality the man is ill. It's a horrible thing to have to go through and I just hope hes not suffering mentally as bad as you would guess he is.

He's worthy of sympathy, agreed that no more than any other sufferer of the illness. But even so its wrong to disregard him as being a waster.

He's a **** and always was, end of! Not surprising given the sport he indulged in of course!

As a Forest fan, I still believe he should have been shown the red card for that tackle.

Bit of a pattern.

Edit - but at least Charles seems to have turned his life around as coach at Lincoln.
Yep, old Stan Collymore gave Ulrika Johnson a battering and now he's moaning that people call him names and threaten him via Twitter.

Seems to me, he has always had a drink problem. But a lot of people make excuses for him.

Biggest problem with him is being a short ****, another two inches taller and England would have been in a second major final

Typical primadonna un-educated footballer, p!ssed it up the wall then became addicted to alcohol and other substances which then probably led to drink/drug induced psychosis, eventually leading to abusing his Mrs and the inevitable depression at which point he drinks and snorts his way back to numbness.

Problem being Alcohol is a depressant combine it with copious quantities of any drug he can get his hands on then it's no surprise you end up in the nut house.

Bi-polar my ****, he's a spoilt primadonna that no longer commands his previous status so he just's keeps getting wasted.

Weak willed is more like it, he never had to exercise control because he always got his own way due to being a talented footballer, once that talent deserted him all that's left is an un-educated **** wit like 90% of talented footballers, so he goes back to being what 90% of un-educated **** wits are a substance abuser.

As a neutral I was disgusted that he wasn't

If it was anywhere other than a football pitch, he'd have done time

Has anyone ever suggested that you could possibly be a little too argumentative?

You have to admit there are a lot of labels in today's society and a lot of me me me attention seeking has beens. Combine the two and probably the vast majority of washed up 'stars' have some sort of affliction.

I don't have to admit that, no. Two simple questions for you, Maz: A) do you accept that Gazza's bipolar? B) Do you accept bipolar's a real illness?

has anyone ever met him??

i have he was briefly manager of kettering town fc, the town where i live and was mostly in the beeswing pub up the road p1ssed.

i thought he was a sad drunk old man, he obviously is very ill and cant help himself or even want to.

he was surrounded by "mates" buying him drinks and spending his money, id suggest this is a major cause of most his issues, now the moneys gone so are those "mates" and nobody cares enough to help.

I accept bipolar is an illness, however I'm a little more reluctant to admit Gazza is bipolar. I've had days in the past when sometimes I've been **** a hoop and some days I've been in the doldrums. You just get on with it and make the best of a difficult situation.

Gascgoine gets pissed and battered his wife. Gary Charles got pissed and battered his wife. Stan Collymore got pissed and battered Ulrika Johnson. Can you see the pattern I was continuing?

I was then pointing out that a bloke who beats a woman in a public bar isn't really the best person to moan that people call him names on the internet.

So despite Gazza being diagnosed by medical professionals and exhibiting almost all of the classic symptoms of bipolar and with not one credible commentator questioning the veracity of his condition you're going to based on a vague hunch, your occasional ups and downs and a general antipathy toward 'celebs'. Forgive me for not taking your conclusion too seriously.

Take it how you want, it's your opinion and you're entitled to it. Wasting sympathy on morons is not my preferred pastime.
