LOL, Martin, the master of, "No it isn't! No it doesn't!" wants others to prove their statements.

Keep digging Martin, you are getting near Australia.

No, I'm saying the figures can't be trusted. We had a thread recently where you criticised me for suggesting the crime figures couldn't be trusted yet:

Police crime figures lose official status over claims of fiddling

Told you so!

I wasn't the one throwing the word 'proven' around!

When it’s something you want to believe in then you seem to set the burden proof quite low. Funnily enough when it’s something you don’t want to believe then suddenly you need absolute proof.
All I’ll say (again) about the crimes stats, is that the trend is clear and consistent. Are the numbers manipulated? Probably yes, but I say again the trend is clear and wholly consistent with the Nation Crime Survey (unless we are all suffering some kind of mass delusion) and the pattern of crime from most major developed countries. If you have anything of substance to challenge these very straightforward and logical conclusions, I suggest you post them up, as I’ll a very interested to read them.

Nope, I did check it wasn't just the media being their usual selves. The fact remains the figures have officially been deemed unofficial as they have been proven, in some cases, to have been made up!

Oh and it is you who keep banging on about proof not me!

Basically I called you out and I was right so now you are... dare I say it... wriggling

The trend is clear yet the figures are probbaly manipulated. Have you any idea how idiotic that makes you sound?

I think you need to take some of your own medicine over believing what you want to believe and evidence etc.

Me wriggling, or you desperately trying to avoid the basic logic again?
Can you answer my very straightforward and logical points?

You haven't made any or asked anything. Just the usual Martin intonations of 'this is how it is and you're all stupid if you think otherwise'.

At the end of the day the figures you base your arguments on are inacuurate. Doesn't suit your agenda to admit that so you just bluster on.

You're not worth wasting time on these days really to be honest!

Just to be clear again. The numbers I base my argument on is the clear and consistent trend in the crime figures, NCS and what is happening in other Western countries. Please tell me how that is anything other than logical and straightforward?

I don't know to what extent this fiddling is going on but the figures for the UK are being fiddled. Did you not read the link?

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-25831906

Read this, I think you might be confusing the Police stats with the NCS

btw - your link makes exactly the same points

Good timing...

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-25858421

Here's the very latest stats - the 'fiddled' Police stats are now removed from the official government numbers, for all the reasons you have pointed out.

Sigh... yes, but until a month or two ago you would have told me that both sets of statistics were official and to be trusted. How are we to know whether the NCS figures are any more reliable?

It is in any government's interests to see crime drop and unemployment drop.... it is also within their power to make it seem like that is the case via any number of methods.

Maybe everything is rosy in the world of crime and jobs, but I can only judge by what I see and experience and in the case of the former I don't believe what we are being told!

It's difficult to know where to go with this discussion, your position is
impenetrable, to logic, facts or rationality.

You believe what you like...

On thinking about this I think you (Martin) are happy to believe everything you read as long as it has the word official on it whereas I choose to believe nothing I read and question everything.

The truth of course lies in the middle gorund, but I think my approach is far safer given the way politics operates within all these spheres these days!

Finally to give you an example of why I think the crime stats are probably way off. My AMG was badly vandalised 3 days after Lee Rigby's murder (the morons who did it decided I was a Muslim and deserved to have a 'go home' slogan carved in the paintwork as well as the rear window smashed etc.).

The police were called and the two officers who attended were excellent. The car was eventually taken by the insurance company to an approved repair centre and it took 9 weeks to get it repaired. I mention the length of time as any incident resulting in me being deprived of my vehicle for that length of time due to the amount of damage caused I see as a genuine crime.... not a minor incident.

I had to fight to get a crime refrence number as despite how good the officers in attendence were it seems that their superiors wanted to classify it as a car accident and not a crime. Needless to say I didn't let that happen!

It isn't the press saying it. I did my research first before posting it. It's all in the report and was reported on by at least 5 of the papers with the same direct quotes. You should know I would have checked that first.

BTW many may not like The Guardian, but it was just about the only paper to come out of Leveson with any integrity!

Moaning and whining about being force fed bullsh1t figures is perfectly normal, if your happy to accept said figures roll over on your back with your paws in the air and be a good little doggy.

Wrong - I was arguing that the TREND in criminality has been heading down since 1995, based upon multiple data points and logical conclusion. You were the one going on about evil conspiracies, dodgy stats and lying politicians (as always)

The bottom line is this

1) Unemployment down

2) Those in employment is up

3) Interest rates low, and no they won't be going up in the very near future

4) Growth is up. We are now the fastest growing economy in Europe.

5) Inflation is falling.

So chillax, have a beer and enjoy your life.

Ps: some people will always moan and whine. It's tedious and boring

So why get so hyped up over these things, I certainly don't. There's sweet FA you can do about it so just get on with your life instead of whinging and moaning all the time. I can imagine spending an evening with you, F1 and Alcazar, suicide would probably be a better option.
