Result Steve

BTW not all apple "iPhone" charges will charge an "iPad", nor will a PC charge an iPad. I didnt realise this until I came accross a similar issue myself some time ago.

They told me they sent someone away the day before who had an item in that was 1 day out of warranty so it does appear if you don't do your homework they will totally screw you over

Luckily I had researched the sale of goods act and had a cracking BBC review loaded on my iphone

Also I bought mine in the USA from the apple store and they were trying to tell me they couldn't help me due to buying from a different country? but the sale of goods act is with the retailer not the manufacturer and since I bought from apple

Quite a lot but it will be virtually every manufacturer and since your claim is with the retailer your screwed unless you do your homework

Yeah, what ******* they don't give out nearly enough replacements for out of warranty returns. Now if this was a Samsung product you'd just walk right into the Samsung store and... Oh Wait!!

Only you could turn a knackered Ipad thread with poor service from Apple into a Samsung hate thread

Would the 6year on electronics thing work on my Sony tv that developed a screen fault ? It came with a 3 year warrenty but its nearly 4y old. Their TVs come with a 5y warrenty now

In fairness the SonyCentre guy did say to bring in in for repair and "they might" give me some discount as a goodwill gesture.

Well , what the guy said was "bring it in and we'll send it away to see what's wrong , and they might fix it as a goodwill gesture depending on what is wrong"

...... em , just forget it. Not worth the hassle.

I would save the BBC website info on sale of goods to your phone and look up the Sony code of conduct towards warranty repairs

Also my missus reckons if you get no joy ask for the number of head office and who you should speak to and also ask for a number for Sony legal department and media department.

That should make you sound like you know your rights
