Default My ipad is dead

I put my ipad mini on charge and went to use it 4 hours later and the screen was blank. I tried switching it on and nothing then I tried the soft reset and nothing and the same happened when I tried to connect it to a pc.

I walked into an Apple store but since I did not have an appointment I was sent away. The ipad is two weeks out of the 12 month warranty period and the longer it takes me to get an appointment in an Apple store the more the warranty gap widens.

I was told instore that after the warranty period Apple have just point blank stopped its free customer service? The only thing I really liked about Apple was how good their customer service was but now they don't have that they are just any normal tech brand off the shelf.

When you book it online, put down in the notes that you tried to take it into the shop on date xx.xx.xx but there wasn't a 'genius' available so were sent away.
I'm very very surprised you were told they wouldn't help.

I already have the appointment booked for Saturday and I didn't realise about the notes? When I took the ipad into the shop a supposedly trained Apple technician on the genius bar queue was going to do a soft reset but when I told him I had tried that he was out of answers, makes me laugh Apple technician

The real technicians are out the back. You never see them. This is where all the items that the 'turn it off and on again' genuis people take it when they hit a problem that doesn't solve.

Don't be fobbed of with 'its out of guarantee' -- people have a lot more protection from 'consumer protection' acts these days

They will help you, one year is not a resonable amount of use.

Well done Android users for making it to a year, it's an exclusive club.

Could be the socket on the ipad. Lots of fragile pins.

The sale of goods act says its 6 years and 5 years in Scotland but the claim is with the retailer and not the manufacturer, well good news I bought it from the Apple store

Apple appointment kept and they were going to send me away until I started quoting the sale of goods act and then showed them the BBC website stating your rights, we were even on Apples code of conduct to make sure we weren't sent away

I have a brand new replacement which is either getting sold or given to my missus
