I reckon someone on MLR starts this sort of thread, then they all sit back and laugh their ***** off at what a bunch of tw@ts Impreza owners really are!

I have heard that adding a piston to your exhaust gives you way more "powerbandz" and like a million HP gain at the wheels......

Whilst I don't really like the idea or even practice of putting a spark plug in the exhaust and it also may give a detrimental image of impreza owners, is there no one who could possibly help the OP?

Or am I being gullible that this is a genuine thread. And a bit sad for posting for help for someone putting a spark plug in their exhaust...

Firstly, what is the spark plug type/part number? What size is the spark plug thread?

Nobody on here can help until the OP answers these questions. Once he has answered these he has answered his own original question and this whole thread is pointless.

In my opinion, it's all a big joke!

Well yes of course people could answer it.

Your typical ngk plug should have an 18mm thread, so drilling an 18.5mm hole and using an m18 nut to secure it would be the obvious answer, but if your tailpipe is not a thin pipe and quite a thick one like my prodrive one, then you will need quite a long plug, or said nut welding to the outside of the pipe to screw the plug into.

Then of course you need a ht lead, an ignition coil, a control box and a switch on the dash somewhere.
Yes i used to run one on my massivly overfuelling 2.0l mk6 escort on motorbike throttle bodies i made fit...
20 foot flames in 2002 were quite amusing...

For a fuller effect fit the spark plug in the fuel tank, flick the switch and enjoy the flames.

Don't forget your marshmallows!

Also if you cut out a slot on the underside of the tail pipe to allow more air in, then you will get a bigger flame

And you could cut a slot under your seat with a pipe going into the exhaust and the other end you could hold inbetween your legs with a funnel and then you could pour petrol down it whilst your driving for the ultimate effect .

Take the exhaust of just run a manifold you've got a 1990s boy racer no need for loud exhaust and it will spit flames all day long save the hassle of drilling holes in a decent exhaust you can sell it to someone who actually appreciates there car sod of down md's and be the talk to all your friends problem solved and save a few quid
