Benefit Street

Wife works getting long term unemployed back to work and actually covers this area - I can safely say that this isn't just a select few like this ....
Yes there are legitimate claimants on benefits but there are also a lot of people who revel in being able to do nothing for something!
Dare I say it - this issue seems more prevalent in some communities / races / sections of society than others (I see it often enough being a 3rd generation immigrant)!

Anyone out of work for 5 years should be forced to join the army. Send them all over to Afghanistan, give them a AK47 each and tell them to go kill the bad guys.
These people bring absolutely nothing to society and cost our country billions. The woman want sterilising, its the kids I feel for most. Its just a vicious circle, the children grow up thinking thats how the world works so without some serious intervention it'll not change.

I just can't understand why they are not working. Why isn't the government putting them to work, they pay them a bloody wage anyway. Sweeping the streets, clearing rubbish, painting over graffiti etc etc, at least that way they are contributing towards society and actually earning their benifits.
Another idea is to offer the woman 10 grand each to be sterilised. I think you'd be shocked at how many would agree to it and it would actually save the country money in the long run.

Also, why are benifits paid in cash. As we know, most of them spend the money on drink or drugs.
A better idea would be to pay the benifits in vouchers which can be used to buy clothes, food, pay bills etc etc.
They all seem to have posh tv's, mobile phones and smoke 40 **** a day. And what really boils my **** is how they think its their ******* right to get benifits and winge how bad the government is when they get their income cut slightly.
Mugs like me who have 15 grand a year taking out of my wages are funding all that.

I assume from your user name that you are a Sikh, I never think of Sikhs as being like this, is that a fair assumption, seems to be a lot of pride and respect amongst Sikhs, is that a fair comment or are there deadlegs like any community ?

There are no 'typical' jobs for Sikhs although we fall into the 'typical jobs' for Indians thing - doctors, builders such like. As society progresses you'll probably find Sikhs in most types of role (with the obvious exception I'd like to think - doing things expressly forbidden - barber, butcher etc etc)
From a religious point of view we are given 3 simple rules.....
Work hard
Share what you have
Remember God

Vouchers could have their name or picture on them and then they'd have to show ID to use them. Im sure some would find a way round it but I bet most wouldn't.
And then if they worked for the government (by sweeping streets, clearing rubbish etc) they could get some of their benfit in cash to spend on luxuries.
I just don't agree that they should be able to spend their 'free' money that comes from hard working folk like myself on drink and drugs.
