call me silly here but wasn't the real problem that the car had done more mileage than you were told.......

so you have the car with the higher mileage on and you are now happy so apart from getting all of the other little problems sorted ( why did you buy it with all of them anyway )

just my opinions....

Because I bought it with the mileage showing 128 not 180 if you have read the thread you would know the whole story...

that's my point you bought it thinking it had done 128 when it had actually done 180 but because he fixed a few odd problems you are now happy with it

Panel damage is what's wrong with it.

There is justice in the world in some cases. In August I was out in my 'new ' JDM 2.0 Hatch on trade plates when l got a call to go to the doctors to collect a prescription. Whilst in there a guy in an Alfa Twin Spark reversed at decent speed into my front bumper. Two witnesses came forward after he drove off wheels spinning. Daft really, he must be local, he was in the doctors after all.

Anyway I reported it to the cops [ got a mild bollocking for stopping whilst out on trade plates ] I argued that the Doctor's car park was private ground - seems it is not. Anyway, they decided that as I was a 'victim' they'd not make my life any worse. Nice of them as they are correct and could cause trouble with VOSA over 'misuse of Trade Plates '. They pursued him and got him in court in December.

RESULT ? £185.00 fine for not stopping at an accident etc. £85.00 court costs and 5 points on his licence. OUCH. If he'd stopped we could probably agreed a cash settlement and that would be that.

Now he also has a bill for nearly £700.00 for the repairs.

Makes me feel a bit better.

Oops, late reply, but I got back the reduction in the value of the car plus my expenses.
