And he won. The irony, given the title of the program.

...An oxymoron, if ever there was one. :S

The irony is in the title, yes he is no Keith Lemmon but it will be a long time before a brit wins Wimbleton again. The title should be Sporting Acheivement of the year. Vettle yes great acheivment but the car had a big part to play in his wins on the other hand tennis, football, athletics, swimming etc technoligy doesnt play a big part on the results, its down to talent and dedication to the sport.

Of course I'm not knocking his dedication and achievement. And I'm proud he's British and won US Open, Olympics and Wimbledon (first Brit man since Fred Perry, 77 years ago!).

I was just being 'mean', purely for ***** & giggles.

The funny thing is Murray wouldn't really want anything to do with this award. The guy is only interested in tennis, probably the very reason he has done so well.

Totes.

Although he almost 'went' towards the end of the presentation. So he certainly felt emotional about the award, regardless.

My opinion of him changed when I watched him talk about Dumblane.

Andy Murray has drive , dedication and determination.

Perhaps if some footballers followed his example they might justify their rediculous wages by winning something? After all he main reason people dislike him is because of his perceived "slight" on the England football team!

At the end of the day, its a pat on the back to be voted, but come on! I'm sure he'd rather win another tournament!

Congratulations to Amber Hill on getting the Young SPOTY award at 16 and in a minority sporting discipline (Olympic Skeet Shooting). Even at that age showed murray how to do an acceptance speech.

How the hell the British and Irish Lions won the team award I'll never know. Should of looked at a team like Wigan Warriors who done the double but of course League isn't fashionable so it won't get a look in at SPOTY.
