So in summary obviously the STI is a better all round package, but the WRX is 80% of the car for 60% of the cost, representing better value?.

Beaten by a Focus ST? You should be ashamed of yourself lol
Just to summarise and draw a conclusion to this thread, wrx is best value for money and blod wrx ppp is the fastest 0-60 ( the one that counts) subaru impreza made to date.
I live next door to a guy that did all the Subaru finance at the local dealers and he said, how many miles will you be doing, I said 25k a year, so he said you'll be better with the W R X with the PPP pack because you will have similar power to the standard STI but you will be able to walk when you get out. I bought the WRX
Then I got an STI

Bearing in mind I have the wrx......sti's are obviously the better car. Better internals, better turbo, stronger gearbox and better brakes. No argument to be had.
One thing about newage gearboxes though, I thought the 350 I put through my 05 wrx would be borrowed time but alyn at as performance said the older 5 speeds would die at this but the newer boxes can take more abuse.......but the rods are only good for 380 on a standard wrx so no gain really lol

A tuner told me several week ago that the WRX heads can't handle power over 330bhp, what it comes down to is that there are no real experts on the WRX/WRX STI.
Tuners and self professed STI owning tuning experts claim the TDO4 can produce anything from 260-310!! WRX TMIC 280-360 WRX Injectors 280-330 Fuel pump 250-320!
AET wouldn't fit me a VF35 because they said I'd need STI pinks and STI TMIC, BS.
The newage WRX is a wrecking machine and Subaru fitted the catted up-pipe to tame it.
All joking aside I MUCH preferred my bugeye wrx to drive than my type r. So smooth and refined . . then again it hadnt been tuned and stripped out with racing harnesses in
What do they know?? Should just go ahead and do it!!!
I dare you!!!
Infact, I double dare you!!!!
ive said it before and ill say it again what a fckuing *****, you dont need bigger injectors for a bigger turbo just run it lean it will be ok after all its the bullet proof wrx

You are making yourself look more stupid with every post....

I put my 225bhp WRX against my outgoing 261bhp EV0 4, and the WRX was considerably faster, it also felt just as fast as my mates 280bhp Classic WRX. The EVO had a worn exhaust valve diagnosed by NR Autosport but a trip to TRL sorted the fueling out so the car was running pretty sweet considering.
my entry level old Nreg WRX pushed a E6 tommy mak up the road last nite so i coudnt give a **** if i have pink badges!!! pmsl pow pow
V2 JDM GC8 WRX's don't really qualify for this argument mate. firstly they come better spec'd from factory being a proper Impreza and secondly they were pretty much the same Spec anyway You would need to compare the UK2000 with it's tiny TD04

My standard WRX looked bloody awful though.
So your WRX is quicker then a Evo with worn exhaust valves!!! Brilliant mate
My scooby is quicker then a Bugatti Veyron when its got a flat tyre and the ecu shut down and gone into limp home mode!!!

Good advice if you ask me, what's the point of fitting a bigger turbo if you don't have the mods to support it...

So now a Newage WRX running 225bhp feels as fast as a 280bhp classic....As I said, you're loko
RS Matt, your WRX you should just fit a Billet GT35 and be done with it!! PPP Ecu should learn itself and you should see 600bhp in a instant!! These tuners try ripping you off saying that you need a engine rebuild, and injectors, and a remap etc but we all know all it needs is a turbo change
