Countries a joke I would just keep throwing money at it regardless, politicians seem to do **** all for us using any common sense and police aren't allowed to do anything as the government don't let let them, **** the both of em I say

You or I would have gone to prison for longer than the Huhnes, stayed in longer and you know it.

Yes I am absolutely suggesting the case be dropped.
1) It is not a huge issue to most people, just people like you. It happens every day with police, politicians and media to normal everyday people and just because this is one of Cameron's mates does not make it a huge isse.
2) it has been investigated TWICE already and 'the truth' cannot be found as both parties are lying and it is now one word against another. Given who it is that's involved I doubt the truth could ever be extracted even with torture as I think the truth is an alien concept to these people!
3) Aside from Cameron and a few other policitians and senior policemen who cares what was said? I care more about wasting yet more of our money flogging a dead horse.
Finally why do you believe most policticans are so honourable when just abotu everything else illustrates with facts that they are not! You are utterly deluded or maybe you are shacked up with one or something weirder!!

When the police try to "verbal" a cabinet minister and get caught out - it is never going to end up looking good for the police.
It is interesting that so many wanted to believe the story in the first instance and also that the police involved were happy to run it out. I am not sure which of the two groups I have a lower opinion of.

But surely this IS now the point: no-one will be held accountable because it's down to their word against his.
And it's laughable to think that either a politician or a police officer would NOT tell lies.
Even if someone WERE found to have lied...what EXACTLY would happen?
A politician would resign as a minister and be re-appointed six months down the line after an apology.
A police officer would either get a reprimand, or be allowed to retire on full benefits.

Would you rather this sort behaviour by the Police goes unchecked? Their misconduct resulted in a senior minister resigning from the cabinet. Whether the truth comes out at this stage is irrelevent and what this inquiry will do is send out a message that all those in the Police force on all levels are publically accountable for their conduct. I do not want a Police force that thinks it can lie, cheat and conspire and be allowed get away with it. What kind of message will that send out?!

At a time when cuts to the police were high profile maybe swearing at them wasn't such a good idea on Mitchell's part, but then embellishing the truth was even less of a good idea on the part of the police involved (whether they decided to do that off their own backs or under 'advice' from other officers)!
I disagree with your stated opinion and would be interested to hear how you have managed to come to this seemingly unequivocal opinion/conclusion.

About time this was put to bed and Mitchell justs says I was wrong to swear at the officers and we agree to disagree what was actually said.
If he had not sworn at the officers there would never have been a problem. Lets reverse it and the police officers had sworn at him. Probably the sack by now. What a farce and what a disgrace this present Tory government and in particular this Home Secretary who appoints her own 'independent' advisor on Police pay and conditions as her HMIC.
The only people who do not seem to suffer from independent reviews on pay and conditions are ? YES you guessed it the pigs to the trough MPs. What a disgrace. Mitchell needs to be big enough and just apologise and move on.

Yes because he should have been respected as a member of the government, if the police don't respect the government and tell lies what chance does the little man on the street have in receiving justice and fair play.
