This has to be a wind up surely? Been on here for nearly 10 years. No one has stolen my identity.

Go figure.

I guess the same can be said for insurance comparison sites!

Use other sites and you wont get redirected?. Its pretty easy when you get redirected your getting redirected to someones server?.
Its not a case of attitude its a case of security for myself and all members using the site..Why on earth would you think that attitude. Truth is members want a good site and security is part of a good site is it not?.
If their was reason for it then im sure it would have been answered rather than pointing at attitude?. What was the reason for that?. I ask 1 easy question about d.o.b. and im stupid and got a attitude?.REALLY?.
Okay lets keep it simple then and you tell me where our details get redirected to?Now that carnt be hard for a member can it?. I await your reply then.
If your silly enough to put your real DOB .then fair play to you

Most of the forums I have joined have asked for DOB,

You get a PM Birthday message & never had any one steel my identitiy.

If you have only joined to shift your "1000's of cars" then I think you will be better on a car selling site not a Subaru enthusiasts forum.

This is the only such site i have visited where you give your date of birth?. no other site has asked for such details before. ?????. now if you think your details will remain secret then think again..Their is no reason why any1 should want to know this. this leaves your personal detail open to abuse. or could do.
If any of you have used such sites before then i gaurantee you havent been asked for your date of birth etc?. its a 1st for me i can tell you that and ive used them all. Can any1 answer this and why its required.?. bet you carnt lol.
Think about it why would such a site want your date of birth etc.??????
If I remember correctly when I was a paid up member i would get a post wishing me happy birthday. or was that from SIDC

Cant remember now.

I work with nearly 250 car clubs forums.. a lot of these sites ask for date of birth. Maybe over a third of sites I'd say.

Scoobynet is no different to any other club forum. There is no attitude from the club as a while towards other forums but I am sure there are individuals with attitudes, but you'll find them on every forum going.

Very bizarre first thread indeed.

He's got a point though. I entered my date of birth when I registered and within the space of 2 weeks my house had been sold without my knowledge, and I'd bought a shipping container of electronic superchargers (with built in dumpvalves).

Oh how I regret entering my DOB now.

Ignore the others Mongo, I understand you.

It would appear that smoking crack in the small hours and then posting insane rants on Scoobynet is becoming all the rage.

I think the best thing you could do would be to stick to your used car lot, but take the vital precaution of making a tall cone shaped hat out of tin foil and wearing it to stop the NSA reading your thoughts.

So, in summary you thought that asking for your date of birth was suspicious but you went ahead and signed up anyway

You will fit in well

Jeff, I am with you on this one.

I once whispered my date of birth near a computer and within a week I had lost my house, car, savings and wife.

My son forgot who I was and my parents imploded. The resultant black hole from the displacement of energy sucked in parts of Woking, but the Government hushed it up. I can't even bring myself to tell you what the sick *******s did to my cat. Poor Tiddles!

Now I live at the hands of the forum webmaster, I barely see the light of day and if I'm lucky they fill up my water bottle on a weekly basis. I saw a glimpse of myself in the mirror recently and my eyes are now like Gollam's, it is horrific.

I was never educated either. Well I say that, I was raised by wolves (note they are the parents that imploded as mentioned above) so I am a fair hunter. Not that this has helped me recently living in my giant hamster cage.

I better go now as they aren't aware that I have a computer; it was smuggled in by a kindly keeper, but if I am honest I just see it as a cruel irony that my only contact with the outside world is the very thing that landed me in this predicament.

If you're ever in the area (I know you can find me, based on your above comments) please drop me a line. I miss the real world and being able to converse with such sensible individuals as you.

Ignore these other swines, they don't understand.

Run while you still can.

Run....
