So, Teachers .......
They won't.
The Tories will just change the law, same as they did in 1988.
Cost an average classroom teacher five days holiday, and even then, £2000 a year for the next twenty years.
Took away teachers' right to negotiate a salry etc, and that right has NEVER BEEN REPLACED!
Teachers have slary increase implemented...or not.
They have not had ONE raise of even equal to the rate of inflation since 1988....surprise, suprise!
Yet HMG claims the commitee that implements the salary rises is independant.
Aye...right!

I don't wish to be anti teacher because I'm not but the starting salary of a doctor is about £22k a year

So to me the salary of a new teacher sounds very reasonable. A doctor will have attended Uni for five years (and so more debt), will routinely work anti social hours ie bank holidays, weekends, nights etc. They will not get three months 'off' every year and also have to put up with violence, drunks, bad behaviour etc.

As Tone has pointed out this situation is no different to lots of other jobs ie policeman, firefighters, nurses, doctors etc.
Fires don't want to be put out, criminals don't want to be caught, diseases don't want to be cured, some patients (drunks, those with dementia) etc will bite or punch you for trying to help them.
I'm not saying that trying to teaching delinquent children is not stressful, but it's no different to lots of other jobs.
It's part of the job.

Btw the comment from Sami_d made me laugh , "so much to do and it's nearly half term "
Tell you what Sami , get a job where you have so much to do and you've only got a week until a £100k penalty and it could put the company under , then you'll know what pressure is lol
Totally clueless
Ha ha, don't make me laugh! Pressure of dealing with child protection!
