Do you get a kick out of pretending to be this stupid, or do you really not understand the difference between the "right" to live in a brick or construction-grade timber dwelling with 21st century amenities erected on concrete foundations, and the right to put up a wattle and daub hut on a plot of bare soil, with no running water, electricity or access onto a properly surfaced road?

That 11-sprog bint receives benefits equivalent to a salary of 66k!

Plus she narrowly missed out on being re-housed in a half mill new-build.

I'm sure she's not sweating though; as the council granted her two houses knocked into one.

WTF is the point of grafting when this **** goes on. WE are the ****ing mugs. And these 'system players' know it. They're the ones laughing their overactive genitals off all the way to the bank... Literally! (The Scouse hag and her bf).

Yes but, in case you hadn't noticed, we don't live in the Middle Ages. If you want to question what services landlords provide, have a think about it next time you pay your rent.

You're just describing a technological difference.

It all comes down to restricting land use, kicking the 'wrong sort' of people off land and giving the 'right sort' exclusive monopoly rights. Planning permission is just one weapon in this arsenal.

Closure and restriction is the name of the game. Creating if you like an 'artificial market'.

Well, if you don't know, then you're a complete mug for handing over a significant proportion of your income to someone without knowing what they provide.

One of my landlords Mr. Roberts made sure I burnt special expensive coal in the fireplace, although my neighbours told me that he used to burn worn tyres when he lived there himself. Then he kept my deposit for sod all, although nothing we damaged in his house. My kids were very little, then. He used to come sometimes to say 'Hi' to us, and try to act friendly to my children by speaking in Welsh to them. After I found a new place, he bumped into me in Tesco with his wife and kids. He had a cheek to ask for more money from me for cleaning his carpets. There was nothing wrong with the carpets, I only lived there for 6 months with my both very well-behaved little children. needless to say that I wasn't stupid enough to fall for his greedy power games to get more money of me.

Another two after that Mrs. Kirk and Mr. Wynn also ate my deposit for sod all. Mr. Wynn never fixed the boiler, nor did he ever fix the leaking roof. Mrs. Kirk was an old lady, her wooden house up the hill that I rented off her froze in Winter 1995. My 6 yr. old and his little mate Jake brought me sledges full of snow so that I could melt it to make a cuppa for myself. Not her fault, I know. But she didn't need to keep my deposit for such a shabby, five months of living there.

My landlords were supposed to return my deposit upon me leaving, but none of them ever did. I had no strength to kick off either, then.

I was so pleased to buy my own house after that. End of misery; the misery I faced while I rented. I never even hammered a nail on those rented houses, it felt wrong to do so.

I'm sure there're some decent landlords out there, but unfortunately I didn't have the decent sort.

Rant over.

I understand why you rave on about the man Adam Smith who lived almost three hundred years ago. You seem to have much in common with him.

He was 'a peculiar looking fellow with an odd gait and speech impediment. He was often found talking to himself. He died unmarried and living with his mother'

Does that ring a bell?

The difference between a £99 supermarket bicycle and a brand-new BMW M5 is 'only' a technological difference also, so are you honestly trying to tell us the latter isn't worth a good portion of the £73K extra??

Again, if you really wanted to, I'm sure you could find some way of getting your hands on a cheap plot of land and obtaining permission from the relevant authorities to erect a mud and stick hut on it for you to live in, all at the fraction of the cost of a real house. You'd stink to high heaven inside a couple of weeks, and probably become seriously ill within a few months (not to mention unemployed, as noone would hire you smelling like that), but hey, you wouldn't be beholden to the dastardly BTL thieves, and you'd be sticking two fingers up good and proper at all the other scumbags who facilitate their dirty schemes, right?

So come on, what's stopping you from going and doing it now, instead of sitting there inflicting your absurd theories on the readers of this message-board? It's what people always used to do, isn't it?

Good God, there was a time I thought TDW was actually quite intelligent, but he now just appears to be an insecure raving Maoist with a penchant for spouting bollocks straight out of The Ragged Trousered Philanthropist.

Still, he provides entertainment.

The thread was about people who don't contribute isn't it?

Plenty of outrage on here about people claiming benefits rather than working, this of course understandable.

We should do all we can to minimise this. I would use all the potential saved revenue to support the genuine needy; people living on $2 a day in the third world. I wish I read a bit more 'outrage' on here about that!

Benefit scroungers are first world problems though.

Not many of us see (or really care?) third world problems every day.

Why give it to some third world country, this is my tax money your spending here?

I would rather it went into new hospitals or something useful in the UK.

Yes and are the people of the UK not more important when it comes to spending 'our own' money than people who have never put a penny into the system.

Why give it to 'people' in a third world country, what about our elderly shouldent they get it before some a foreigner?

Absolutely, if they're more needy
