I don't want to sound like there's no use for laptops, I have to have one as my office could be anywhere in the world and often in a field or car park. But for the majority of laptop buyers the iPad or Tablet has proved a better buy.

have a windows i7 pc thats only used for burning blurays etc its fast as **** but dont use it for anything else as my galaxy note 10.1 is used for everything else also have a note 2 as a phone and both sync fine and do what I need them to if no wifi it teathers fine. both devices print to my epson all in one wireless printer.

I also own a netbook and it takes 5 hours just to start up its shocking

Tablet is king IMO

even my daughter loves the note 10.1 she has about 20 apps running at once and it handles fine with the 2 gig of ram onboard - the s-pen is also a joy to use we all use it.

If you're just browsing the net or reading emails, then yes, the tablet is a good option, but that's about it as far as I'm concerned.

Depends on the person I suppose. I use mine for all of my quotes, the spreadsheet I use syncs to all of my machines. Much nicer when out with customers than trying to fire up a laptop. I play games on mine, Xbox is in the loft. I use it as a telephone via Skype and now TuGo. I use it as a network scanner, very nice app. Google Analytics are better using an app on the iPad. Those are just off the top of my head.

Yeah, there are some things which really suit the tablet device.
We use a Microsoft surface when showing customers how business intelligence could be presented when demoing them ERP software

That was a quick turnaround.

Have a look at DJay and VJay, both amazing and much better than the PC alternatives.

http://www.algoriddim.com/

I should mention, both optimised for 64bit

You need hands to operate a tab, indeed hold it.

Have you seen the fantastic split keyboard on the iPad, puts the buttons right where your thumbs are, holding and typing/tapping at the same time, who knew.

Got my HUDL yesterday, must say pretty impressed with it so far, the screen is nice, it does everything I want it to do, and Angry Birds runs ok

The best bit is the cost, essentially £0 to me as I paid for it with Clubcard tokens & got an extra £10 off with a code on HotUKDeals so £54.50 in vouchers

As the next round of 10" Android tablets get released I'll probably get one of them for my own use (Nexus 10 V2 or Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition) but for the wife and kids the HUDL is great.
