Not everybody buys these sorts of cars as an investment or to make money.
Many buy them to keep, to own a part of history or to just relive a childhood dream. And some are just mad rally fans and appreciate how special one of these is.

If someone had the sort of money to spend 30+K on a 15 year old subaru then you can imagine they aint short of a few bob. Yes they could buy a very nice average mile 22B for 25K but for another 10K (for this sort of person 10K isn't a great deal) they could own one in stunning condition with crazy low miles.

This site is full of people that think every impreza is overpriced, I found this out while trying to sell my own car.

Totally agree with you there Matty, especially when it comes to mint newage STi examples.

I don't ... my only concern was is it that special to have that price tag . You've got the point Matt and i do agree on some stuff you've said.at the end of the day , we're all different and have different point of view of what the "dream" subaru is. But everyone is to their own.

Although a fantastic car and an icon, the market for it is very small.
As Mantas has said, the car is too good to be used daily so in order for someone to buy it at this price (or even 25k) you need to have over 100k in your bank account to make sense IMHO.
If I had the money I'd rather buy the 25k one and use it as a toy including the occasional track day rather than lock it up in a garage and look at it.
A petrolhead couldn't lock it for and wait for it to appreciate in value eventually.
The petrolhead would use it as a toy and drive it as often as he could, not daily of course.
An investor wouldn't care about driving it as to him it's only money IMHO.

It's possibly a '21B' or a '22A' you mean...?!

It does seem very competitively priced.

The question then is, of course, is there someone out there today who is prepared to pay £35k? If so, then the value has indeed gone up, and it was probably a good investment. That doesn't mean the same car will also be a good investment at that price for its new owner, though.
Agree with you 100%.

I also dont think sticking WRC in front of the name don't add £10k to the price.

Unless its an ex Prodrive rally car. Then £100k is more like it.
