jameswrx 04 October 2013 08:05 PM

Looks amazing.

grey_boy 04 October 2013 08:10 PM

Local to me, might go and see how nice it looks in the flesh

thenewgalaxy 04 October 2013 08:11 PM

Lovely car.

Saw an "official" UK import with 12k on the clock go for a similar price early this year.

stevebt 04 October 2013 08:28 PM

Isn't it just a 2 with a massively over inflated price?

Tidgy 04 October 2013 08:50 PM

yeah way over priced, also not got origional wheels on it.

MattyB1983 04 October 2013 08:52 PM

WRC 22B ????

Its just a 22B. Lovely car with very nice miles, a little overpriced but its rare so someone may stump up the cash. If it was mine id try it at that price.

Its nice that the original wheels etc come with it.

ah, didnt read the advert so my bad, still not worth 35k though lol

johned 04 October 2013 08:55 PM

Uk car?.

Jacko4130 04 October 2013 08:59 PM

I can think of a lot of better things to spend 35K on....

thenewgalaxy 04 October 2013 09:02 PM

No it's an import. And I concur, it's overpriced I wouldn't pay that.

As far as my knowledge goes, 16 cars were officially imported to these shores.

I'm really not sure if that would factor into my decision to buy one, to me a 22B is a 22B and it doesn't make it any difference if it was imported officially by a group who just decided to one day call themselves "Subaru UK" or via a specialist.

EssexJamie 04 October 2013 09:06 PM

That looks stunning, may be overpriced but if my numbers come up on Saturday I would be straight up there buying that and a few other cars he's got in stock!

johned 04 October 2013 09:16 PM

What i was saying is if a uk car then maybe it was worth a few shillings more, but an import well make your own minds by this i mean you pay for exclusiveness.

Scooby-doo97 04 October 2013 09:28 PM

22b has to be the most overrated car that Subaru ever produced. I wouldn't pay 20k for one let alone 35k! As nice as it looks there are better cars out there for much less.

MattyB1983 04 October 2013 09:32 PM

But is it overpriced ???

Its one of the most iconic rally cars of all time and without doubt the most desirable road going impreza available. This one looks in stunning condition and has wonderful miles.
Find another one....

I'll own a 22B one day, if I had the money to buy one right now then id be throwing the owner a 30 grand bid and would even pay a bit more if needed.

Its got nothing to do with how good a car is, there are better cars out there for half the asking price.
Its about owning such a rare and iconic car.

53 04 October 2013 10:00 PM

You can import a Grade 4+ one for 30k :) You'd be the first UK owner too :)

Cannon Fodder 04 October 2013 10:02 PM

Lovely car, definitely an appreciating classic car if ever there was one.

I am not sure if it's worth the full asking price but you can't argue with the pictures it does look in outstanding condition.

At the total opposite end of the 22B world I regularly see a 22B parked half on and off the pavment of a town in Mid Wales, the wheels are scraped to buggery, it looks unwashed and unloved.

I have even stopped to have a look at it and I have to say I don't think the owner appreciates what he has, I would say the only love and attention it might get is a visit to a jet wash as the paintwork is swirled to hell and back.

I am not sure if it's a UK or JDM 22B but it's a crying shame to see it not being treated with the respect it deserves. :wall:

Some jealous cnut would only walk up and scratch it

CREWJ 04 October 2013 10:25 PM

Looks amazing but it's just not worth the asking price.

g7prs 04 October 2013 10:40 PM

Read over on 22b.com that its sold.

rossyboy 04 October 2013 10:52 PM

Sorry guys, but its worth every penny of that.

Make no mistake, whether you like it or not, these are heading the same direction as the SWB Audi Quattros and more recently the Sierra RS 500s.

They've never really dropped below about 22k, which is very much in line with the RS 500 when you take inflation into account.

If I had 35k to invest and a place to store it, I'd have bought that myself.

Busterbulldog 04 October 2013 10:54 PM

For 35k I would expect a dent free intercooler.

I wouldn't class it as rare, there are other versions which are rarer. Talking of iconic cars there's always the Audi Quattro and M3 CSL. My point still stands that the 22b is highly overrated.

urban 04 October 2013 11:16 PM

35K - catch your fcuking self on!

juggers 04 October 2013 11:31 PM

I can only see the price of the 22B's rising it is an iconic symbol for rallying. I wouldn't pay 35k for this example though.

Have you driven one ??

Make no mistake, a mint 22B with 25K on the clock is very rare and will only increase in value. Like you say, subaru offered other variants with much lower build numbers but none quite as desirable as the 22B.
Overrated or not, its an iconic car that real impreza enthusiasts like myself dream of owning.
It wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if it sold fairly quickly for very near the asking price. As I said earlier, if you want a mint, original uber low mile example then you don't have much choice. Unlike every other impreza, with a 22B its a sellers market not a buyers.

mantazini 05 October 2013 06:07 AM

I do agree it's an icon and probably the best looking impreza. But if you think it was somehow better then a "standart" Sti Type Ra or Evo 5 Rs , NSX Type R or same caliber cars ... Think again.... I have a huge collection of best motoring videos through the years and saw couple tests with them.... Nothing extra ordinary as you might imagine... It's a collectors car , nothing more then that...

You can find loads of real comparison vids not Top Gear like on you tube these days . Only shame is this is not translated :thumb:
