Oh - and YOU brought the race card into it, Kas didn't.

But as a few of our fellow members have said, you can put all our minds at rest, simply by posting the asked for pictures.

Imo that's all you need to do. They'll speak for themselves, and hopefully volumes for you (and your dad).
I wondered if someone would mention the post count, the holy grail of all knowledge it seems.

I don't have to like this forum, I actually have a busy life outside of Subaru's and the internet I do know enough about forums to know I wasn't the original poster though

I will try and make my point again - unless you were at the viewing, you will never know who played the race card on who.

Photos for you in a second.

Photos of the 'crashed, orange peeled, shed' as requested, taken today as I left work.

If anyone wishes to verify the validity of the photos (that is usually next on the list in these troll type threads) - feel free to read my listing (which has not changed - bar the addition of one of these photos shortly) and feel free to view the car.

To save any spot the difference type questions, the number plate spacing has changed from the previous photos so the new owner can drive away legally. I can confirm the background of the photos is planet earth.

If you wish to see a crashed Subaru, I suggest you find your kicks elsewhere.

Doesn't actually look too bad, apart from the dent ( no offence ) shut lines seem ok.

Thank you and there is a slight crease there, but nothing too major. To be clear the below isn't aimed at you.

It is clearly described as 10 years old - not a mint show car, not a brand new car - 10 years old. In fact, a smart person should be WORRIED if a ten year old car was absolutely perfect in the bodywork department. The view that it has been crashed is very extreme and offensive to someone trying to sell, imagine if it was you??

Just because you are buying a Subaru, don't expect absolute perfection from a second hand one. Go and look at a 10 year old car of another make and see what comparisons you find.

In fact, go and look at other 10 year old Impreza's (which my advert also suggests btw) then look at mine. You will find mine is priced already fairly for an STi.

Oh no no no.

What I said was factual, every single word of it.

It HAS got emotive.
You DO have only 17 posts, which confirms that you're not a regular contributor (which as you quite rightly say you don't have to be) but it gives the appearance of infrequent visits and/or finding little of interest on a forum with threads as wide-ranging as this one does. I accept that you could simply be a driving enthusiast and not a conversionalist on all things Subaru (and not). Unfortunately 'enthusiast' is one of those words that means different things to many people.
YOU brought up the issue of race.

I came late into the debate, looked at it with an open mind and as a result made my comments, the most pertinent of which I think is the plain commonsense advice which OUR fellow scooby fanatics have already said - put the pics up and hopefully it will be a case of one person's view of 'mint' or whatever beign different to another's. (I'll guarantee that when the pics - just noticed them - are pored over there'll be many different opinions expressed, conflicting to a certain degree.

This thread is about a Blob for sale, not whether someone is guilty of a racist remark or not.

Now, back to the 'emotive' adjective:
It's gotten out of hand because you've even spuriously added your comment about not being at the viewing ie. witnessing whether something did or did not occur.
I've never passed judgement, and indeed never would in circumstances such as this, one person's word against another without any evidence I can rely on.

You seem to think that every poster is against you. True, there have been many threads where the op has gotten a lot of sympathy and support, for it only to be discovered that there's 'fault' on both sides.
But can I suggest that you read the threads that I've intimated at, those who had already told you to post pics and let anyone make a decision for themselves - those posters are simply giving commonsense advice.

Now, let me have a look at those pics myself..............

Pictures like that won't show anything, its had a bad paint job, left light is out and your bonnet only closes if you slam it. You also got 2 scrapes on each wing & a scrape on drivers side front bumper. I don't call that 1 mark.

Never the less I will pay for anyones fuel if I'm wrong, however 1 mans trash is another mans treasure.

Lastly, I've had 6 Blobeyes STi and neither of them had paintwork like yours, let alone the light sitting out! Get some one to put a paint tester on it

What version of Photoshop have you used?

SERIOUSLY, don't - as in DO NOT - get uptight with my little joke and put your boot through the screen before you read the next bit.

I said it for a reason. You've tried to pre-empt any other awkward comment that you THINK someone MIGHT make.
I think you're on a hair trigger and it isn't necessary. A deep breathe (and accept my apology for seeming to talk down to you).

Let me say this:

It clearly isn't Kas' cup of tea. I'd expect him to have a much more critical level when it comes to looking at cars because of his profession and expertise than me, for example.

Someone has already said that it doesn't look too bad, some who may post might agree and others may not.

The point is this - you've done as advised.
And without putting words into other posters' mouths we're interested in Subarus, not tittle-tattle. And by that I'm not belittling or grousing about allegations of racism, anti-semitism, misogeny, misandry, anti-gay or anything else, just trying to put it into perspective ie. it's irrelevant and needed not have become a distraction.

Can I ask a question here?

Brad - I assume that you're not a bodywork pro like Kas?

If that's the case has any work that would cause Kas' comments been done during your ownership eg. minor damage touched up?

An enthusiast doesn't have to spend half there life on forums mate.

Some of us have better things to do

I'd say the number plate would suggest the owner is an enthusiast. Prodrive Brad comes across as an OK chap from reading this, perhaps I'm wrong.

Looks ok to me, maybe someone else close by should go and look and put another set of eyes on it, to put a different spin on this just to be fair.

What it's got to do with anything, I'm yet to realise. You don't need loads of posts on a forum to be an enthusiast.

Besides, you shouldn't believe everything you read on the internet.

photos never show ripples and small scratches so are pretty pointless really.
but the asking price for the car is pretty low so it would make me wonder as to why its that low.
having not seen the car it would be impossible to say whether the car is just priced low genuinely to sell or because its got problems.

Like I always say my green is your yellow . And to be an enthusiast your can doesn't necessary should be blinging..... my bugs bodywork is awful , but its been bashed on track days collecting stone chips on blasts chasing my mates etc... its a tool thats been used properly not a clean show car , and Its only my 3rd scoob in 6 years too... as I like to own a car for a bit and get to know her instead of buying and selling or striping like many on here do. Number of owned cars doesnt make you a die hard enthusiast does it?
And my conclusion is that these kind of threads shouldn't be on here as it doesnt do a favour nor to OP or the seller.... By the looks of it I does t look as a shed . Have seen worse...

At the end of the day, what's this thread all about? Apart from the original post and the chap selling the cars reply to the OPs first post...

Kas has been and seen a blob STI, it wasn't for him for whatever reason so he didn't buy it.

The lad selling the car recons its a good car and has posted requested pics ( for some reason don't see what he has to prove on a forum he doesn't use regularly ) and it looks ok to me although you're never going to be able to see any real detail looking at photos of a black car.

If someone else who has posted in this thread is going to go and view the car with genuine intention of buying then by all means post away and ask what you would like to know, I I don't see what brad has to prove to the scoobynet detectives lol.

For all we know the next person to view may think it looks fine for a 10 year old car and pay the asking price, for all we know the op may have just been trying to knock a fair chunk off the asking price etc etc.

One of my blobs lights has a broken clip, I don't know if it happened when the the previous owner removed them to de-tango ( not saying this is the case chris lol ) or if its happened since I've owned the car ( I've certainly never crashed it ) but this could affect how the light sits. I've had the bumper off and arch liners out while messing on with CAI, if I put the bumper back in like a spanner this could affect panel gaps between my bumper and wings?

What if the bonnet had been lifted up then blown back by a gust of wind? This could affect shut lines and the operation of bonnet catch?

Personally I would remove this and let the lad sell his car, if your going to buy a high performance car that has obvious crash damage ( according to some posters ) then you takes ya chances.

Buying cars is like selling houses, Nobody ever agrees on each others conditions, o.k, 1 mark was mentioned and it may have 4 or 5, granted i guess thats an undersight, a pro builder judging an amateur DIY wall build wil always be critical, so will a pro bodyshop guy and an average joe i guess.

proof is in the viewing only, bit like internet dating LOL

good luck guys to agree to disagree

Yep I'm in agreement too. This looks like a difference of opinion and nothing more.

I'm also not sure who this LuckyWelshChap guy thinks he is? People have called me self righteous, but on one thread after another he seems to pop up talking like an ex-headmaster... it's really quite odd and in this case he is just making things worse (all in my opinion of course)!

IMO the OP needs to retract his comments.

Unless there is something we are not being told the car is clearly not a shed, just a differing opinion on what 'good condition' is.

If I was selling the car I would be very unhappy, I think he has dealt with it quite well.

Maybe he's just missed off about the long trip to view it, surely if a car is described as mint on eBay really one would know it won't be especially being 10 year old the pics look fine and if I was looking for a Scooby up looks nice enough for me to view it by the pics...... Think this thread should be deleted and let brad sell his car peacefully

The whole point is it wasn't described as mint, just good condition for age.
