Paul & Finch Motorsport £2300 complete re-build and agin knew their stuff and very helpful

I haven't phoned any more yet as I need to start saving lol. I might just try and get hold of a short block or complete second hand engine until I have enough to completely re-build with forged internals
Yes it's a expensive hobby lol if you get a spare day read my thred two engines gone in 3 months lol what car you got , I got a couple of quotes too from like 2.5 grand up prob best was scooby bits Truro he said 3 to 4 grand forged cossie gasket and all sounded like he new what he was on bout thing is I've seen threads of people's engines still going 12 k miles after and its bin from a tidy tuner there's no guarantee so I dicided no thanks I get another engine or block put in, take my chances seen as you can get 3 engines for the cost of a rebuild mite not be the best way of thinkin its just me lol

Will have a look for your thread 2 engines in 3 months is very bad luck, I have had my Scooby for 8 years and never missed a beat until now lol.
I got a 52 plate WRX bugeye and I love it i know it's not worth much now but it's worth a lot to me and I have spent quite a bit of money on it already so can't wait to just get it back on the road now

I have been thinking of getting this engine what you guys think?

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2712780347...84.m1423.l2649

But keep my original engine and get that re-built at a later date when I have enough saved up, would like to keep the engine number original

Hope that link works lol

He says that's a trade in price you have to give him you're engine then they rebuild , refurb , ure engine and do same again with next customer, could be tidy he cleans them well but surely it would be better if he fited it for you then there's nobody too pass the buck if its not rite also he could just refurbish you're engine I think it's difrent than rebuild its a case of checking and fixing parts that need replacing so depends on damage to whats been replaced its a cheeper alternative

I spoke to him on the phone and he said I could keep my engine if I wanted but would need to pay a little bit more to cover for it think he said he got 2 engines on the shelf ready to go and he charges £250 to fit it for you but it's getting my car up there for him do it is the problem, would be better if he fits it then like you said he can't pass the buck will have to ask him what sort of warranty comes with it too

Yea that sounds tidy I think he says he's been building them for a long time it's allot cheaper than rebuild can't you arrange recovery i no there's places about county motors etc they do recovery mines going to national engine centre cardiff Tomorow 1400 that's including recovery same sort of thing but they have got mixed feedback but I'm not to bothered I got a contract with a years Warenty I don't no anywhere else that offers a warenty its usually a start up and go warranty with these things spesh when buying a engine from somewhere they only cover it a couple of days and if there's a problem they don't refund you're cost of having it fited but if there fitting thereself the onus is on them you're not going to take it if its not running proper no one to blame but themselves I spose that's the issue I had see, i bet recovery aint cheap as well

Yeah will have to look into recovery options
Good luck with your engine re-build hope it all goes well for you now, let us know how the re-build is when it's done.
Good that they offer a year warranty

Yes I will let you no , it won't be a rebuild for that price I have priced the parts and they are prob a thousand or more I think it will be either a refurb block or if my engine aint too bad they will repair what parts have failed depends on what is the cheaper solution for them I suppose , I will let you no ten days they recon it will be fixed and returned we will see
