Hi Tyler

Nice power and torque, although little bit laggier than I would expect, but this can be as you are said, yours headers are leaking

Bad luck with the turbo again, really not sure how it possible you are broke the turbo, what oil restrictor you are used and what oil feed lines you are used ?

Really I would speak with John@ http://www.braveheartracingdevelopments.com/ about his Billet 20G,he charging for new Billet 20G around £850 and this turbo will make similar power with better spool up and top end

Older MD321S has been based on different core as T and due this are expensive to rebuild or they're not possible probably to be Billet'd

Hopefully you get sorted this sooner or later

Oil restricter came with the turbo and the oil line came from Mocal, I took the one that came with the turbo and showed them. Not sure on what to do now really.

Hi Tyler

I would check turbo first and I would check oil restrictor, can be small and this has caused premature wear of bearing

I would check this with Lateral Performance or Turbo Dynamics what oil restrictor do you need to use

Investigate what is wrong with the turbo, and go from there, an s206 is what I run on mine.

It isnt a cost to which I had previously taken into consideration when buying a turbo, I thought rebuilding it would be pretty much the same across the board!

Cheers guys i will pull the turbo out this weekend if i get a chance..

2 things i did notice was that my oil pressure gauge hit max which i think if it did i wouldnt have a engine to guessing that is just my gauge, as also the car was running perfectly, second is i did notice there was a fair bit of pressure built up in the water pipes that run over the air filter, is that normal?

You say is it "normal" did it do it before? thats your best bet

Oil press hitting max? that seems odd, where have you got the gauge? I assume it hasnt done it before? What is "max" btw?

Can not remember if the pressure on the water pipes were like that before.

As for oil pressure gauge it is a Prosport Stepper gauge the sensor for it screw into the top of the block by cylinder 3, and max reading was 150

Tyler don't give up mate, turbos blow sometimes, did you prime it up properly was it getting sufficient oil flow to the turbo 9 times out of 10 it is oil related why turbos fail or a foreign object getting sucked through the induction side,**** happens sometimes Tyler but you just carry on mate.By the way That was some nice power the engine was making just put another blower on.Was your turbo roller bearing?Crturbos do some top draw refurb work on turbos give them a ring if your stuckhttp://www.crturbos.co.uk.SJ.

Yeah I did place some oil where the feed is, I took the restrictor out put some oil in, didn't spin the impeller though as turbo was all in place, surely the turbo would of went on the dyno if I didn't prime... Just worried that if I buy another turbo will this happen again, as in is there blockage or some thing somewhere, how would you check on the oil line? Hope it's just a coincidence that the same thing has happened to both my turbos, I have lost no oil nor any water.

Right well today I snapped out of my sulk put the car back on axle stands and turbo is now out.

There was oil in the oil way when I took it off and there was water coming out of the water feed pipe, so from that side of things all is good. I will be shipping the turbo off to be assessed, not repaired. Defiantly bearing issue (even though I knew that before I took the turbo out)

Here is a couple vids of the turbo on and off the car, there is a little play in the shaft but when you spin the turbo you can hear the bearing. So wondering if oil restrictor was wrong.

Vid of turbo on the car

http://i1221.photobucket.com/albums/...psf0fccb48.mp4

Vid of turbo off the car

http://i1221.photobucket.com/albums/...ps8880b59e.mp4

Turbo Dynamics said they will assess the turbo for free and will ship it back to me to see if we can figure out if it was just coincidence as the turbo is just so old.

Well this is how things stand at present, turbo is apart, impeller cold side is fine luckily.

Compressor housing is fine and has been cleaned.

Failure was hot side cartridge which in below picture is the part at the back of the shaft away from impeller

In the below pic you can see where the hot side turbine was slightly touching the exhaust housing.

New Gt30 bearing kit on route, and also a slightly smaller exhaust housing is on the way with hot side turbine.

Hi Tyler

Glad to hear yours turbo will be rebuild'd to new spec and smaller exhaust housing will give you hopefully better spool up at least and more power

Good luck with rest

Happy with the power to be fair, think from what Simon said mine is maxed out at the 400bhp mark, think he said my heads were maxed out but hopefully will be a little less laggy. But either way just will be nice to have my car back..

Thanks again though Jura

I think this new spec of yours turbo should make more power and with less lag.

What heads you are running?

Yours heads are WRX or they're STI?

Version 3 should be OK at high 400bhp and above, some guys running them above 500bhp without the single issue

If they're WRX I would say they will be OK too,we run WRX heads at 490bhp and above that not sure,we run NOS but we are never been on the RR to confirm if they struggle or not

Thanks Jura, your WRX heads would of been different though as they Bug eye heads no?

I am pretty sure Simon said that my heads were maxed out... Really hope they are not as would like a bit more power, but still would be happy with 400bhp... I will have a word with Simon or maybe post up the question on here..

Really like this build your doing well. Shame about the Turbo but you'll soon have it sorted and back on the car!I think a nice set of Compo MO6 or Revolutions would set this off a treat!

Right well turbo is nearly complete, just waiting on my 7cm exhaust housing.. Seriously can not wait. Little sneak peak..

Also brought some new plugs as simon and Charlie said when engine was cold there was a little miss fire..

Having sleepless nights now from excitement. How sad..

Its just cool to see a Terzo being modded to a good standard as most Terzos are probably sitting in the scrappy now! Turbo looks cute.
Are you running bigger brake setup now to cope with the extra power?
