Well yeah parts of Brum we can't disagree with but otherwise the UK as a whole is a pretty good place to live. And yes I am proud to be British.

If things are so bad here why don't you just **** off somewhere else. The grass is always greener on the other side isn't it.

The fact is not many people are 'proud to be British' anymore. And we run round the rest of the world sticking our noses into other people's problems (after the govournment lies to everybody)starting wars with every country that has a chance of a couple of drops of oil.
Wars which the country cannot afford to be fighting

Did we not learn anything from the afghan and Iraq wars????

I do still stand by what I said

And if I could afford to leave I'd be on a plane tomorrow.
Oi!

Please pick on a different city.

Like Manchester.

Like I said mate if I could in your words '**** off somewhere else I would

God you've only got to watch Jeremy Kyle to realise what a state this country is in.
And is it getting any better????

Although as was said I wouldn't fancy Britain being took over by some of these nut job dictators

But my point is I wouldn't be willingly going to some nasty desert filled country to fight for someone else's problem when all the evidence points to Britain and the USA not being able to get the job done in ANY of the wars started with the Arab nations.

Just don't like how we (Britain) shoot off around the world fighting every Tom dick and larry when there are people in this country in dire need of help.

Our country isn't under attack this time though Les, this time it's the American military industry once again looking for somewhere to demonstrate their merchandise, and Call Me Dave is dragging us along in their wake, just like Bush's grinning chimp did before him

IMO Assad is doing a pretty good job of keeping his country's islamic extremists in check, leave him to it.

It was a service this country needed. Much better than the automated versions. Gosh does anyone actually use automated car washes anymore?

We should stay out of this. Nobody wants us there, just like they didnt need any help in Afghan, Iraq etc. Leave them to it. They should listen to Putin. (Can't believe i've written that). Blair, Bush, Camoron and Obama should be tried for war crimes.

We should stay well out of this like that goon Miliband thinks, even though he's only playing politics to get the muslim vote in the next election.

Don't take this as a personal attack (honest).... I'm just trying to reasonably discuss some comments you have made, which if I'm being honest, do strike a bit of a cord with me.

Unfortunately the "if I", "could have" or "should have" is the second thing on the "pisses me off" list.

You have as much ability to change your circumstances as anybody else does.

I know plenty of people who have gone through proper hardship and life altering situations to change their lives and circumstances for the better, whether that be in the UK or outside of it.

Life is utter **** (and none of us are immune from that) at times.... but it's what YOU make it and how you deal with it.

This country is not a "****hole"..... you try telling some of the poor sods in Syria that. In fact to suggest such a thing is verging on the point of being utterly bonkers - you must see that in reference to other situations.

The problem with the West is that we have become too fat, too lazy, too expectant and just plain arrogant. Many have problems with actually grasping reality from fiction and expect that the fiction is in fact real life and one such life "owed" to them by right.

Based on my personal experience it is much easier to moan, than it is to actively and proactively make changes yourself to negate the need to moan in the first place.

Who are you referring to as "nobody" and "they"...... especially in reference to Afghan. I think you need to do a bit of research.

First off mate I don't take nothing as a personal attack, too easy going for that

Secondly you have no idea about my circumstances so can't really comment on that

Thirdly there is no way I could ever be called lazy along with the rest of the western world as you say
I have 2 jobs and work at least 6 days a week and Tuesday and Thursday I work anything upto 15 hours

If my post offended you I'm sorry but that is my personal opinion

Quite a common public consensus nowadays seems to be "Ooooo F that - I'll look the other way".

Individuals may not be quite so understanding of that philosophy when the boots on the other foot.

You're of course right, I don't know your circumstances.... but I do know at least one person who can influence your circumstances. However, it is very difficult for me to understand a comment made about the UK and how that has a relevance to you wishing to move country's because of it.... and especially with something you could not influence or change yourself without having to move.

I don't expect you to explain why, but suspect you may appreciate my comment on your, to be honest, pretty extreme comment imo.

My comment about the West was a general one mate and probably a generation "thing" more than anything else.

But you said you dont take anything as a personal attack - besides, it was a generalised comment to those who have said lets not help without actually thinking about why we should!!!

No, because they would have far more pressing problems themselves like immigrants and benefit scroungers, plus why would they want to waste their money.........
