Unfortunately I didn't take any pics.
The car is still with me as I've got a few other jobs to do so the plan is to make a template up. It will allow the user to just lay the template onto the bonnet to mark your cuts.
I also have a classic here at the moment so I plan on doing a template for that too. I will then duplicate them and can send them out if people want them.
The way I do it currently is this....
Tools-
44mm hole saw. 30mm hole saw. Drill and selection of drill bits. Masking tape. Pen. Tape measure. Ruler. Dremel tool with cutting discs and sanding fittings. White paint. Metal file. Tea. Patience.
1. Choose the position on the bonnet where you want the first catch and blue tac it on.
2.Then open the bonnet slightly and while kneeling infront line up the approximate location of one pin. This doesn't have to be precise, just a fairly close estimate.
3.Then once you've got your first pin position drill the front panel and fit the pin.
4. Measure the position of that pin and duplicate it on the other side. Be sure to measure carefully as the two pins need to be in the exact same position on both sides.
For now, leave the pins roughly 50mm sticking out from the slam panel. You will need to adjust them later.
5. Then apply a small dab of paint onto the top of each pin and gently lower the bonnet onto them. Lift the bonnet and use a small drill bit to drill through the paint marks.
6. Cover the bonnet with masking tape in the area your catches are going and push the drill bit back through the hole.
7. Cut out the templates that come with the catches and use these to mark the position of the catch. (Fully Complete one side at a time). You'll see lines on the template, these need to be lined up with the pin hole.
8. Once you've marked the position (check measurements and position again) and are happy then use the holes saws to cut the bonnet. Go right the way through both layers of the bonnet. Just do one side for now.
9. Use the dremel tool with cutting disc to join the holes together. Once cut you may need to tidy it up with a file or sanding fitting on the dremel. Keep working it a small amount at a time until the catch fits.
You will need to do this on the underside too.
10. With the catch in place you can mark the holes for the bolts. Once marked use a small drill bit to drill all the holes. Slide the backing plate in and bolt up the catch.
11. You now need to measure the position of the first catch and duplicate its position onto the other side using the template. Remember, measure 50 times and cut once. The pin position is already marked but you need to get the angle identical.
12. Once marked and your happy then go for it.
The pins will need some tweaking to fit smoothly. Dont be scared to bend the pins slightly if needed.

Was a little bit more of a pain because of the angle the bonnet over the headlights. Some fit the catches above the grill but I personally think that looks sh1te.
Just take extra care when measuring and cutting and they fit just fine in a similar position as the blob above.
As long as you've got all the required tools and plenty of patience then you'll be fine. We've done quite a few sets now but still takes a good 3 hours.

Not the best pic but this is the bug we did. As you can see the catch can sit in a similar angle to the blob but has to come in a little bit.

i put some on as when i put on my fmic and removed the top mount the bonnet resonated a lot at speed being ally.
they are simple to fit.

Peace of mind for me.
Hit 167mph on the autobahn before I built the 2.5 and the bonnet looked like the scoop was going to rip it off. I won't remove my scoop as it's an important part of the Impreza silhouette IMO.
I've added another 250bhp since then.
