Difference between wrx and sti

Depends what you want and need from the car.
I've come from a string of BMW's and fancied a change. Knew I wanted a Blobeye but it had to be a Wagon for practical purposes (I also prefer the look), so I only had the option of a WRX. So found one with PPP and prodrive springs and it does me fine.
I have the money to go out and Buy an STi or 2 but it would be no good to me as it's not practical enough.
I thought about doing some mods to the WRX, even bought some parts (turbo, injectors etc), but then thought I'm 30, the car is good enough as it is and I can't be ****ed.

I also have a Classic STI type r for the real hard/fun driving that will be seeing some reasonable power soon with a new engine and my own hybrid turbo along with a ppg gear box as and when the original lets go.
At the end of the day and all joshing and winding up apart, if your into modding it is better to start with the best/highest spec car you can afford, which was the advice given to me by Graham at TSL before I bought my Type r as it will save you money in the long run, i'm in the fortunate position of being able to own two subarus one daily and one toy, both do the job I intended them for admirably.
Everyone has to balance their finances against their want's, need's and goals.

everyone to their own does it really bloody matter - there will always be better and worse cars than what you currently own - you are all Subaru owners with fab cars - they all have their own merits

Who's going to own an ABC and say it's crap ?!!

tubbstwat call to wrx ppp not only wrx
both cars are s.h.i.t.e out of factory, even japs say audi s4 has better handling (they compare evo and sti to s4 and still cant beat germans)
sti finish 10 years ago, citroen rules

The way I see it you buy a WRX to slightly fettle with, change aesthetically but not make into a STI beater as your just throwing money away, you should just buy the STI and pour money into that to make it a a big BHP car if that's what your after.
I went for a tarted up WRX (UK300) as I don't want to chase BHP figures done that with Pulsars, Cosworths etc.
I wanted a nice looking, half decent BHP car that I could make go a little better and look a little better.
It's never going to be an STI or better a STI.
You can not make a WRX quicker or better then an STI for cheaper tghen buying a STI!

OOPS !
The gentleman is actually correct.
The question asked was 'Are you not from this island' and apparently he is not.
Therefore the correct answer is 'yes'.
However, in order to redress the balance - he believes that German technology outstays/supercedes/whatever that of the Japanese.
History - not simply English Grammar - teaches us a lesson there.
Our Far Eastern friends lasted a lot longer than our continental ones, and certainly needed far more power to quell them.
