Since when has Stephen Hawking attacked religion? I recall a documentary in which he put forward an argument that the existence of a higher being was unlikely. How ever he never described believers as interlectually inferior/weak minded/brainwashed.

Hmmm, I wonder why religion has an image problem.

What you mean a bit like 8 of 10 cats does countdown, we have Scoobynet does imajihaddistnutter.com? Sounds like fun
Actually when you say "highlight just how weak willed you and your arrogant beliefs are", I hear a bunch of nut jobs shouting as loud as possible with a whole load of personal threats of violence in place of argument. Must be my arrogant belief. Which is ironic....

Agreed. Religion is the biggest cause of wars, hate, segregation. We're all human. We got created by a big bang or God? I don't know. Im on a mission to find out but won't follow the crowd. Il do my own research. When I'm tired of fast cars beautiful women and money. That'll be in another 50+ years

I note with interest that an awful lot of the 'intelligent non-religous' types on here are also so enlightened that they believe we should ignore the starving of the world and stop overseas aid, scrap benefits, abolish immigration, dig up as much stuff from the ground as possible and burn it, and generally only do things that benefit themselves...how does that work??
If being a non-religious person involves being a completely selfish cvnt then I think I'm off to church on Sunday!!

Are you saying they have become a bunch of bum bandits due to religious suppression of their sexuality?

Hey I ain't no scholar and I will admit that I do look down to many people for the beings that they have become. I do see atheists who have a bone to pick with religion for the confused muppets that they are. Point being you haven't even come into said Islamic forum yet you feel you are in a position to judge.
So as I said, you want to debate religion come over and debate. You want to troll in the comfort of like minded chummies? Well, goes to show who is the weak and less intelligent.

I think you'll find more reverts than 'born' Muslims on the forum. Then again if you refuse to educate yourself and discuss your theory out with those Muslims who will actually give you time then you are the one who is showing weakness not them. Funny how you atheists don't like to be judged yet you are well, you know the rest.
You are entitled to your beliefs which i will accept, well at the end of the day what do i care what you believe. I have my beliefs which i've evaluated, criticised and decided they are the right ones. Your opinion towards them is irrelevant to me. I don't even know you and even if i did, your beliefs would have no relevance to me whatsoever. That would be until you decide you wanted to try and 'convert' me to your set of beliefs or assert your beliefs over mine.
Oh, i could debate religion with you guys all day but as i've said before. It's the same old regurgitated bull that every atheistic wannabe hero comes out with. In the past when i gave a damn. I would try and educate, be sensible, basically be the good little Muslim boy.
However since i am not very religious and haven't really ever been, my default response nowadays is not Islamic nor is it good Muslim boy. But it gets the message across loud and clear. Of course, that is relying on the assumption that the intended recipient of the message has a level of apt intelligence in order to understand the message. Unfortunately more often than not, the intended message is never really gets deciphered correctly by the seemingly intelligent. How ironic
Good night x

The difficulty I see is how you debate with dogma. To have a debate the parties must be willing to be swayed by argument. The fact that religion asserts that you must have faith tells me that logical thinking isnt going to be a strong point, and hence argument is just be who shouts and threatens loudest.

Agreed, the usual argument of 'oh well you can't prove god exists' holds no water with me what so ever. It can just as easily be turned round to say 'oh well you can't prove god doesn't exist'.

I have not seen the great guy (in fact there are religions where him/her is not to be depicted) curing AID's, poverty, ignorance, bigotry, inequality, selective abortions, world wars, parting seas, lifting mountains or any such miracule type in a long time.
To misquote the film Jerry McGuire "Show me the miracle!".

Because it is, and to get into an intellectual discussion about it, affords it tacit a level of acceptance it simply does not merit.
Off course I discussed the tooth fairy, unicorns, goblins, mermaids, father christmas and the like with my 4 year old twins, but I would not dream of insulting their intelligence, now they are older, by framing any such discussion outside the context of fairy tales
Atheism is not a belief/faith, - it is like trying to put a label on people who don't believe in goblins

You can't argue with a sick mind. Your all brainwashed from birth to the grave. How could anyone have a chance of putting a point across on your odd website, without being jumped on and according to yourself, bummed to death
