A site like what though? This could have happened on Facebook or Twitter or even here.

Like Camneron you are both blaming the messenger!

I've had some good fun with ask.fm and found it bot useful and reassuring - but that's because I've only used it to ask questions of my own kids - 15 & 16.

I was generally pleased and impressed by the way they responded.

The best fun I had was asking my daughter 'Is your mum hot?' - then getting told which one of her male friends had a crush - then told my wife in front of my my daughter - she was horrified and incredulous that her 46 year old father could even have heard of ask.fm

My questions were quite tame, but amazing how many people will ask a 15 year old girl for photos, whether she's done ****, what type of underwear she likes etc...........

It's playground gossip on the Internet, good and bad.

The Daily Fail are running an article suggesting that 98% of the messages this girl sent, were sent from her computer.

thing is , you were innocent enough , but as your last sentence shows - do the seemingly pointless questions/answers seem worth having on a site when the spiteful and seedy are on there ?

I'm finding it hard to put into words what i mean. Like Facebook , Twitter etc will have some unwanted people , but the site is used by the user for something worthwhile (to them) for them not to want to stop using it or deleting the account. But anonymous questions from anyone on stuff like "who do you fancy in school" , or "what's your favourite movie" What is soooo appealing to the user that they would want to join the site , never mind NOT delete the account if you got abuse etc. ?

One of the young chaps I work with would use Ask.fm and it shows up on facebook. He's a mild mannered type who you know will come into work one day with a shotgun and do some serious damage. It's a bit scary.

People who use these sort of websites are people with issues in the first place. Its an escape and a way of talking to someone. In reality they need a therapist not a stranger with no positive advice.

You must register an account on the sites you are on about, not hide under the guise of anonymity, posting hateful(perhaps even harmful) comments.
Post such comments on the likes of SN, no doubt it'll get removed and most likely the account will get reprimanded depending on circumstances.

The site in question does not appear to have any etiquette whatsoever.

And how do you arrive at this conclusion then?

You started it by implying you can't use Facebook and Twiitter under a cloak of anonymity.

I am not going to bother to open the site but from the descrptions I have seen of its operating style, I don't think it is anything to write home about.
