Been looking in a classic dealership today and he had a evo 7 with just 5 k miles in for a whopping 35k and they are confident they will sell it for that
list new was about 19k for it
a Porsche 911 was going for 24k on the same year reg
Decent bloke to talk to and classics are sought after now and will go up like evos in the next two years

I sold a "2006 Hawkeye WRX Type UK" which I owned for 3 years recently, was in very good condition and well maintained, FSH, I was having it serviced twice per year, Full Service with every MOT and interim after 6 months, doing only around 6,000 miles per year in it. Always fixed any advisories right up until its last service and MOT where I just got the MOT pass sorted and ignored the advisories on the service before selling.

So end story is having maintained it very well, having taken it from around 70,000 miles on clock to around 90,000, end result was I sold it for £1,000 less than what I paid for it 3 years prior.

I would say they are maintaining there value extremely well, went out and got myself a 2009 Hatchback WRX-S, for less than an extra couple of grand more after having sold the Hawkeye

After looking at prices I see that they had gone up quite a bit, this was. Nov 2018 ,I found a uk sti widetrack blob ppp 62000 miles fsh so nicked it for £9300 ,after that I was looking for another low mileage wagon as they still command good money but no luck until 2 months ago and got a jdm hawk wagon 60000 miles but paid strong money for it but didn’t lose to much on the blob after six years of ownership, now, when do you see a blue impreza whith the gold wheels on the road or any other colour, you don’t as they have been smashed up or broken up as already mentioned in this thread,I think they are already rising in value and the blobs and hawks and bugs are classed as a future classic just like my BMW Z4 m coupe look at the bmw Z 3 m coupe prices compared to 15 years ago with the s54 engine,I’m thinking skyline prices might be achieved given time and then just like some of the old fords which after having a few in my day are a peice of crap compared to my first Datsun,my mate just paid 25 k for a Mk 11 lotus cortina and is spending probably another 10 k on it,my Datsun 260 Z,I paid £2600 and now it’s got an agreed value of nearly 40 k,certain marquees of car will always be worth more than others but I think the scoobies are one of the best investments in cars out there at the mo,don’t know too much about the older models but always fancied one,one day maybe

You don’t see as many around these days, be it classic, STI etc, certainly not around where I am and they appear to be holding strong their value. Popularity is elsewhere with hot hatches with Audi. VW and so on. Could be a good thing for those that have them that might want to sell.

Yeah I was looking at getting something a bit newer but it’ll sit there most of the time and if I spend 10 k on a car it’s worth 3-4 k less in a tear or so plus I find most cars we see today boring,I ragged my mates Porsche Cayman don to wales and back a few weeks back on the way home couldn’t wait to get back in my Scooby but must admit if I was going to get a sainsburys farmers car it would be the Porsche

I agree but there is no market for any cars at the moment.
The overinflated ones never sell just look at pistonheads etc to see that., same ones from same sellers still up a year later

completely agree mate, my old car is on piston heads for 15000, i couldn’t believe it. I will find a link, I’ve noticed even an average car is overpriced on pistonheads for some reason,I’d stick to either the car Enthusiasts websites like scoobynet or mlr for an evo https://www.pistonheads.com/classifi...k-2004/9981023

The question was "impreza prices to rise"
the sought after special models always demand a premium.
the run of the mill ones I doubt will sell.
Low mpg and high tax is not a good thing in these uncertain times

I agree, if I was in the market for a Subaru today I’d never get a narrow track blob sti but that’s only because I no what to look for, when I got my first Subaru I got a Subaru wrx import and had no idea what I bought, it was just a Subaru...

The phrase 'the 25 year rule' springs to mind again.

At that age most of the crap ones have been broken or scrapped, and what's left that is decent is either kept by enthusiast owners rather than sold, or fought over by people who used to own one and can now afford a classic plaything.

Gradual increase for most.
