Two great links I've saved those for future reference

If you think of just components you could do it a slightly different way.... Firstly since mines an RA I wished to maintain as much integrity of the car as I could so what comes off goes back on apart from brakes, exhaust and a few uprated mounts to enhance the car, luckily the power steering set up I am replacing comes off the same model year car as well. Another way would be to talk to a breaker and pick up hubs, drive shafts, cross members etc and that way you can still drive around and clean a massive amount up in preparation leaving the strip down to be more manageable then as certain parts come off you can re underseal in sections. I'm going white as I do not have any underseal on mine at all so a coat of stone chip followed by white paint is my desire

 

Thanks, I'm glad they were of interest. I've been stripping some aftermarket underseal off mine this evening (unfortunately I then re-applied some of the residue to my new T shirt, which is causing a little temporary domestic unpleasantness...) and it's very satisfying exposing the original painted surface below it.

Realistically, I'll have to wait now until the car goes back into hibernation for the winter before I can get cracking on it properly.

 

Do keep us updated on how you get on with it. And as usual, pictures would be great. I think I speak for most, when I say we do quite like such restoration projects.

I've not forgotten this, I just haven't managed to take any photos yet. Further photos of other cars in the meantime will still be very welcome of course.

 

Finally, I took a load of photos today. Because I am probably the world's most inept photographer, all of them are blurred, but this one is just about passable. I'll try for some better ones soon, but I hope this is of interest.



The photo flatters the car, and I've still a long way to go in cleaning it up to my satisfaction, but at least I've made a start.

 

Dragging this back up again, my T20's hibernation (SORN) begins on Friday next week, so hopefully I'll be able to post some more photos of my progress on here over the coming months.

In the meantime, and hoping for more inspiration, does anyone else have similar photos to share please?
