My paint guy is really going to town on the bootlid. already did a test fit to the car to see if/where he needs to make any modifications and is smoothing down the whole thing to make it look as flat/factory as possible. Not cheap (£500) but I am hoping it will be worth it.
Sadly, he confirmed my suspicions on the rear/front left of the car that most likely the previous owner crashed her and didn't tell me so I am off to my alignment and jig guys at some point to see if the chassis is still spot on . Fecking car....
Will post pics once it is fitted but I think that won't be until early September as I won't have the car from next week.

Ok, mine is on in basic form, no keylock in it yet and a few fitting issues but half of those are due to my rebuilt boot area due to a previous owner stacking it.....
Not going in to any details now guys as really busy day but pictures to at least tickle your giblets:
Looking at a flush fit meshed scoop delete in black with black louvres hidden underneath from yankland, serious money though!

The shots aren't great but feel free if you want Ben.
I am having to very slightly enlarge parts of the keylock hole (talking sub-1mm) with my dremel to give a perfect fit and I have removed BOTH of the torsion bars that hold the normal bootlid up. I did try it with one but the torque was enough for the bootlid to lift on that side and it appeared to be a noticeable strain on the lid.
I think that someone with a welder could heat one of the bars up and twist it slightly to reduce the amount of torque on the bar but it may well be a fine balance between being enough to 'pop' the bootlid and being able to open it fully.
Without some sort of 3rd party solution I think that all owners need to be prepared for a life without lifters for the lid.

I thought as much with the torsion bars, problem with having fibreglass and carbon is its very light so being delicate with the parts is a must. I'll have a play about with mine when I get chance see if I can fashion something that will aid the lift but wont pose any danger when opening (ie too fast)

I've been doing some digging and found this solution to the boot not staying open. A couple of magnets and sorted.

Excuse me for hijacking the thread but with all these people taking the torsion bars off would any of you like to sell the STI torsion bars to me?
I've got a Hawk WRX with an STi spoiler and in the wind it keeps trying to cut my head off.
Anyone local to Salisbury,Bournemouth or any SW place would be best as I could collect too.
Please PM me to save cluttering this thread more than I have haha.
Keith.
