it won't run like crap, but it could det under load or when on boost. i'd only use 97 in an emergency, and then run off boost until you can fill up with 99
why not have your car mapped on 97? there might be 10 bhp difference, but if you need to use 97, you know it's fine

my currently standard (i think? lol) WRX says suitable for 95 on the fuel flap and i have been running 95 since i bought it. when i get to modding and mapping it will stay 95 compatible. if i want more power ill look into getting it via mods/pulling timing/richer AFR's rather than via more advance requiring higher octane fuel.

my thoughts exactly.. or even have it mapped for 95. probably quite possible to get the same bhp on 95 as you would on 97 or 99 by dropping timing and/or running a little more rich on boost or if your pushing the turbo and its running a little hot change for a slightly larger unit that will run a little cooler, etc, etc, etc. basically get the hp back through alternate measures instead of running the most advance possible for a given setup which then requires high octane fuel. hell maybe even just run water injection off a big water tank when boost kicks in.. that has the affect of increasing octane rating/knock resistance. bound to work out cheaper than continually paying extra for 97 or 99.

In the (original) days of Optimax I got 25% more mpg for about 7% more cost.
My last remap looks like it has saved me 2-3 mpg ie 10%, which is 5l given my tank.
That's £7 less out of my pocket.

In Finland shell v-power 1,843€ per litre.. In northern Finland we have seen regular 95 octane in region of 2€ per litre. It is unfair towards consumers that petrol is so heavily taxed

Funnily enough, local Momentum was 142.5 this morning.
Last time I used it (3 weeks ago I think) it was 137-something.
Who's the worst robber - pikey or petrol company?
