suppose its about time for an update on the thread, bit slow moving on the project at the moment as other projects have pushed this one to the side, however seeing cars at shows etc have given the kick up the **** needed to get stage one complete.
stage two is already in the pipe line, not to be completed until mid 2015 tho, which includes a new engine build, etc
but back to how shes getting on at the moment
first off thanks to Rae for dipping my ecu cases,
its not been relocated into the glove box on the passanger side of the jdm dash ( which has now been flocked and test fitted
engine is being finished off, just waiting on the stainless pipes for the custom cooler pipes, they were on order from RCM but they have since stopped making them :-( so currently looking for a new supplier of real nice pipe work, the header thank has come back from the platers also new genuine sti belt for the added bling lol
next was some more carbon / Kevlar parts, which include the driver and passenger side floor inserts and Kevlar sill guards which tool aggggeeeesssss to arrive but never the less are now here
after all the talk of the new engine and gearbox, I thought I would bite the bullet and get new brakes, so the nice chaps at grayham goode racing sorted me out with a nice set of 355mm 6 pot AP calipers and rotas plus ds2500 pads and they are huge, only just fitting under the 18" revolution alloys!!!
sticking with the rear brembos, they are being overhauled and painted black with new discs and the new ds2500 pads
the cartek cut off and lifeline extinusher kit kill switches have been mounted into the scuttle panel
just in case of an emergency (fingers crossed they wont be needed!)
so now the dash has been taken back out and custom loom is being made for the car, taking out all the unessesary wiring/plugs/solenoids etc but she is nearly ready for ignition so the longest stage is near complete!
so in the mean time I have been collecting parts for the next stage....
6speed DCCD box stripped and rebuilt using carbon syncros
plus some more wheels
so that's about it! theres a custom center dash being made, plus custom switch panels,
the AST 3 way adjustable coilovers are now ready for collection after being sent off for new mounts, springs, rebuild, new inserts plus custom damping and rebound settings for the car, set for tarmac spec, so they can be bolted back on, then cooler pipes and ready for mapping on the alkatek ecu
will keep you posted..............

Wow, excellent progress. Your using some really nice parts there mate.
I'm very interested to see the kevlar sill gaurds fitted, this is something I've been considering for my 95 RA for some time now.
A place I can reccommend for stainless pipework is JC Wellfab. Think that's where I'm going to go for my stainless boost pipes.

sill guards look to be a bit of a mission to fit, but will set the car off in the end how ever for the price I would have liked a better fitting product, but as with most after market parts theres cutting and fitting required.
re stainless pipes I will look into them, as want real nice tight bends which is hard to find without distorsion in the pipe work ( if that makes sense )

Makes perfect sense pal. I'm after some really nice flowing bends, instead of having a dozen silicon hose joiners. I've heard great things about http://www.jcweldfab.co.uk/
I wouldn't expect the sill gaurds to be the best fit, after all they are a Motorsport product where function takes place over form. I know gussy over on 22b fitted sill gaurds maybe worth a pm to him to see what the crack is?

All the running gear is off a newage sti with r180 4.44 plated rear diff plus 5 speed Dccd box (at the moment) so the brembos just bolted on without needing a fitting kit

Ok so bit of an update 90% of the loom is now comete and just a bit of tidying here and there to do now, awaiting the return of the ecu with updated software, flat shift, shift light, AL LC Etc then plumb boost controller and air temp and she (fingers crossed) will fire up!! So it's getting close!
Custom pipe work it now complete and looks awesome to me! One side it stainless and the other is alloy, both polished obv!
With a bit of luck the front bumper can go back
On and stay on as the work on the front end is near complete! Then need to sort the inside!!
Couple of pics of the near finished bay
