Not sure when it does go live today, might already be live, but my devices still showing 6.x as the latest.
A few people here have been running the betas and GM on their main devices and seem very happy with it. That isn't to say there are not and will not be issues, no software release is perfect.
Alas my 3GS cannot run 7, so I cannot upgrade to it.
I am very curious to see the uptake for 7 though. 5 to 6 saw a lot of people upgrade in the early stages and I'm hoping to see the same for 7, which helps when you want to make an iOS 7 only app. Combine Apple (finally) adding support to download an older version of a app if the current one does not support your OS - Say you are on iOS 6 and app is now iOS 7 only, you will be able to download the last version of the app that supported iOS 6 - and you could see far more apps being iOS 7 only.
I'm predicting 7.0.1 around 20th October, and 7.1 in early december.

example;
AppX v10 now requires iOS 7 or later. AppX v9 required iOS 6 or later. AppX v8 required iOS 5 or later.
You are running iOS 5 on your device and you search for AppX.
You will see v10, as the App Store only shows the latest version of an app. When you attempt to download v10, you will see a dialog that states the app requires iOS 7 and asks if you wish to download a previous version. If you click download then it will install a previous version. In the example above, you would get v8 of AppX.
If you were running iOS 6 you would get v9.
You cannot select which version you get, the app store decides for you. As yet, there seems to be no information on wether developers can see / select which versions a user gets. It seems it's probably based on giving you the latest version that supports the iOS version you are running.
I ran iOS 4.2 on a device and tried to grab an app that I knew only supported iOS 5 and later and it gave me the last version of the app that did not require iOS 5.

Seems the cell data download limit has increased from 50MB to 100MB, which is nice.
Also seems there is a 7.0.1 for 5S and 5C devices.
App Store is VERY slow at present, no idea why

I appear to be getting more success downloading the IPSW files using a download manager, direct from Apple servers.
Although still slow it is quicker than using iTunes or device - 24% downloaded in 14mins. iTunes and my device were reporting 18hrs - and it was still crapping out.

Down loaded it and had a quick scoot round.
I like some of the features. However I had that it looks like parade from Brighton sea front.
It needs toning down a bit.
It's lost that professional feel to it.
Seems to have been cheapened in some way.

Download was ok but verification took 6-7 attempts. Done now. Keyboard and mail looks sharp. Not sure about the app Icons though - looks very cartoony.

I cannot access the activation server or the iTunes store so I'm just guessing the system is being overwhelmed - wouldn't want to be working in an apple store tomorrow

It's 'damned if you do, damned if you don't'. Google release the updates over a period of weeks, and people complain they haven't get theirs straight away. Apple release to everyone at once and people complain the service is overwhelmed. Can't win.
