the rears are equal, the fronts aren't, but that shouldn't make a difference

I had the car setup at Bridgwater College in the Motorsport department, who did a great job and only charge £60. They use some great kit and did exactly as asked ![Luxhello](images/smilies/luxhello.gif)

The max rear camber I could get without adjuster bolts was 1.9deg
And I wanted the fronts about 0.5deg more, so they were set at 2.5deg
Slight bit of toe in all round, not too much on the rear tho, I want it to be abit tail happy
max castor we could get with anti lift kit and flipping the BC top plates was 5.5deg
Ride height wise I went 25mm lower all round as that's roughly how long the roll centre correction kit is, so the lower arms should be in the same location as running at the recommended height of 250mm (wheel centre to bottom of arch)
I think this should be a good starting point from what I have read....
Weight of the car with just under 1/2 tank of fuel but in almost full rally trim (no tank or diff guards yet) is 1200kg's. the corner weights are with me and my girlfriend sat in the car
It got through it's MOT today too![Smile](images/smilies/smile.gif)
And we're off to enginetuner shortly who will hopefully say the engine is good and we can boost on...... but I have a bad feeling about the rings after doing a smoke test and getting a fair bit out of the breathers

Blown-it-services in bridgwater. Can supply ready made hoses or all the bits you need to DIY. My whole setup would cost around £250. Around £350-400 for the DIY stuff

Down at enginetuner stripped 4th, 400lb/ft was too much for the 5speed dccd box. But before the box went martyn determined that the engine was running well, so I'm happy and sad at the moment!

Yep! I found one with everything I need, hopefully be with me early next wk, along with a vf34, bolt it all on and then back down enginetuner. By that time the simtec should have been updated too

cheers guys
current turbo is an sc42. the map for just vpower showed 420bhp and 400lb/ft from memory. 450/430 with 20%meth, but I havnt looked at the graph for a while now
the dccd 6 speed is now fitted and a vf34 should hopefully be turning up tomorrow and I have a restrictor at the ready, so hopefully it'll be ready to go down to enginetuner early next week for setting up.....

I have my rally turbo, a vf34.
And a 34mm restrictor
The restrictor needs to be 'tagged' to the turbo and to do this you need to drill a hole through the compressor housing and restrictor. Not as easy as it sounds! so I called on the help of a friend with a milling machine who did it for me....

just a daft one as can't see from the pics but doesn't look like its quite correct to comply with MSA/FIA regs
your restrictor must have an external reducer channel (cant recall the specific measurements off hand but approx 10mm wide and no more than +2mm larger than the inlet i.e. 36mm for a 34mm, etc.)
not a good pic but you get the idea hopefully
http://www.sieglerphoto.com/Cars/STI...21_NpC3X-L.jpg
i would suggest you speak to your local scrutineer as it will save time and money longer term

your only at the bottom of the country not on a different continent?? and i'm purely trying to assist you from falling into holes and mistakes that will potentially be costly..........![Thumb](images/smilies/thumb.gif)
MSA & FIA regs state the following;
"The maximum internal diameter of the restrictor is 34 mm,
maintained for a minimum distance of 3 mm measured
downstream of a plane perpendicular to the rotational axis situated
at a maximum of 50 mm upstream of a plane passing through the
most upstream extremities of the wheel blades (see Drawing 254-
4).
This diameter must be complied with, regardless of the
temperature conditions.
The external diameter of the restrictor at its narrowest point must
be less than 40 mm, and must be maintained over a distance of
5 mm to each side.
The mounting of the restrictor onto the turbocharger must be
carried out in such a way that two screws have to be entirely
removed from the body of the compressor, or from the restrictor, in
order to detach the restrictor from the compressor. Attachment by
means of a needle screw is not authorised.
For the installation of this restrictor, it is permitted to remove
material from the compressor housing, and to add it, for the sole
purpose of attaching the restrictor onto the compressor housing. "

I appreciate what you are saying and doing, it's nice to know someone is looking out for me!
From the quick sketch I just did, the external channel should not effect the inner profile, therefore could it be deemed as pointless? and one of those things that is in the rules but not necessary and not scrutinised?!

it is scrutinised and your local chap should have known the rules better before sealing IMO
as it stands now the restrictor could potentially be removed and you would suddenly have a full size inlet, the idea behind the outer channel is that it means the max wall thickness is 3mm meaning its unlikely the internal path will be further increased and allows a "tuning fork" type device to check the size of the restrictor without having to dismantle things too much and also allows a very quick visual check for series or event scrutineers
the smaller restrictors again require an outer channel of reduced diameter on the same 3mm wall thickness principle

does the tag not serve the purpose of quickly identifying that there is a restrictor in place and it is to spec? it does not take too long, even on an impreza to take the inlet hose off and measure internal bore of the restrictor, which is really what matters.
This is only club rallying and not national level
I found these are being sold as complying to the rules, and have seen many similar

i could sell you the "winning lottery ticket" doesn't make it so......![Norty](images/smilies/norty.gif)
as for the rules i'm just telling you the benefit of my 20+ years of experience competing, prepping, building cars, etc. and your local scrutineer appears to be simply not helping you??
have checked again over the weekend with our local scrutineer and FIA / MSA regs are identical in this respect

Clocking the turbo
I ground a lug off the block, cut the pressure port off the compressor, modified actuator bracket slightly, modified the fuel rails and made a boost pipe.

And in my quest for a clean engine bay, moved the for forward so the header tank can go just above the pitch stopper....

3 pins round the outside 2 on the compressor housing bolts, there is also a groove on the outside that leaves about 2mm wall thickness and there is a set distance from the impeller to the restricted portion
I will see if I can dig the drawing out
