The blob was created with a change to the steering geometry at the front to improve steering feel.

You're right mate, there IS a few bhp difference between the bugeye and blobeye.........it's about 7-8bhp and it's the WRX only where the differences are, not STi. I'll confirm tomorrow when I look at my vast array of Subaru literature.
